I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Issuing a DMCA takedown is saying, "remove this or you'll be liable and I'll sue". Their abuse is well-known, and content hosts will often abide by them even when they are not asserting legitimate copyright protection. You seem to be gleefully threatening to issue DMCA takedown notices at the drop of a hat "for the fucking fun of it". “The truth of our faith becomes a matter of ridicule among the infidels if any Catholic, not gifted with the necessary scientific learning, presents as dogma what scientific scrutiny shows to be false.”
Well, partly for the fun of it and partly because it should be difficult to be a douchetank. I just like to make it harder on you lot.

Anything more isolates segments of the market, alienates customers and makes the business a target to opposing political or religious agendas. It puts the entire business at risk through a practise that is neither practical or ethical. I think good business PEOPLE should be allowed to use the maoney they make from being good business PEOPLE any way they like. Eg. Sergey Brin / Gay rights agenda. And customers can vote with their feet too - as is THEIR right. (July 31, 2012 at 8:17 pm)Shell B Wrote: Well, partly for the fun of it and partly because it should be difficult to be a douchetank. Nah, I don't think that's it. I think you think it should be difficult to do things you don't like, regardless of legality; if someone's doing something you don't like with your speech, even if it's fair use, you'll just threaten them so they'll have to be more careful or be more willing to go to court / stand up to content providers who will presumptively remove content that you complain about, regardless of the merit of your complaint. “The truth of our faith becomes a matter of ridicule among the infidels if any Catholic, not gifted with the necessary scientific learning, presents as dogma what scientific scrutiny shows to be false.”
(July 31, 2012 at 8:25 pm)RaphielDrake Wrote:Actually no. They don't have the right to stop that business from locating in their city. Boston's mayor, Tom Menino is backing off his threat to ban Chick-fil-A from entering the city. He said that would be an infringement on their rights. The same case holds true for the Alderman in Chicago who at first threatened to ban Chick-fil-A from entering there as well. No public official has the right to abuse his position in office to threaten or bully someone because that person's opinions differs from theirs.....(July 31, 2012 at 8:22 pm)Lion IRC Wrote: I think good business PEOPLE should be allowed to use the maoney they make from being good business PEOPLE any way they like. http://www.bostonherald.com/business/gen...position=0

You have absolutely zero evidence to back up that bold statement. You're just making assumptions. Who knows why. Probably because you want something to bitch about. If I did that, I would be a very, very busy gal. Do you know how much work that belongs to me is ripped off and posted on the internet right now and I have not done shit about it? I hardly have the time to chase fair use cases. Stop chasing your tail and relax for a minute. Jesus is watching you make shit up. |
