Your access to the NHS is utterly unconnected to whether you pay National insurance contributions or not.It might well be that the NHS is partly funded by it -NI is a particularly large raiser of tax money but NI contributions go to the treasury.
Chiropractic and Physiotherapy are NOT covered under the National health scheme here Puddles

Physiotherapy is real medicine, its about rehabilitation after injury. Chiropractic is woo based.

My mum is a physio and what she does is all covered by the NHS here, but I don't think chiropractors are... but I wouldn't really know, I have never been to one.

Yup. I've had physio treatment via the NHS. I've visited a chiro once, in my life... an experience not to be repeated. And that was private, not NHS. In the UK, chiropracty has always (ttbomk) been related to bad backs. It wasn't until I heard Americans going on about them, that I realised that they've slipped very much into woo over there. Perhaps here, too, with some "practicioners". If they claim that they can cure anything that isn't spine/ligament related, they're woo. If they're not woo, they're still of dubious value. My back was much worse after seeing one. On other occasions, I've self-treated (by being sensible) and recovered much quicker.

Really I think our liberals dropped the ball on this issue. It should have been a single payer system all the way. This is a win fall for the Ins. industry. Their was no checks and balances for the cost of Ins. Premiums every month. Plus they will get millions on their rolls. You could see just who wrote this new law and it wasn't our congress. I see the lobbyist hands all over our new health laws. sure their was some give things that will help the insured but deep down the insurance company's will come out smelling like a rose. I only hope it is changed to a single payer very soon.
