No for sale and production.
I think this sort of attitude of a big problem. If you legalize the use, of course there is going to be production and sales. Right now that production and sales is carried out by criminals, because they face major legal consequences, they protect their profits with violence. If you take away the need to protect those profits, i.e. 'the crime' of producing a product that is legal to consume, then you take away the need for violence. Marijuana (and indeed all drugs) need to be legalized. Decriminalization doesn't address the major social problems caused by drugs. In fact it might even make it worse by increasing demand, thus increasing the suppliers and the crime associated with it.

I'd just add: What about those who want to grow their own personal use plants? I'd think at least some people would want to do that... if it's a reasonable quantity (obviously not for distribution), why not?

Well I'm not going to add anything to this, just going to say I smoke it so of course I'm pro and anything I say will probably be biased.

I don't think having smoked makes you biased. In fact, I would argue that it makes you more informed, since you actually have a clearer idea of what is being argued.

Well then to be honest there really is no difference being high on thc and not being high. The only thing I can think of is your perspective on the world, I find it extremely hard to be upset or angry when I'm high, and tend to enjoy things I normally wouldn't. Surprisingly I become more focused and excel at what it is I am doing.
There are some trade offs, such as random high thoughts(although hilarious). And tending to be focused on one thing rather than multi tasking.

I used to get stoned and watch children's cartoons like "Spongebob Squarepants." That shit was hillarious to me when I was high.

That show does look like good viewing for someone who's baked.
As for anime, the only one I've really gotten into was FLCL. The thing about that show is that it makes just as much sense when you're high as it does when you're sober.

Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo, Gintama and Lucky Star are 3 animes which are just so damn crazy that it actually makes more sense when high. Well, more Bo-bobo than the other 2, but they are still rather nuts.

I'd be interested to know how this is handled for tobacco today? Can I grow my own tobacco and turn it into cigarettes/cigars for personal use without paying any tax?
