I dont. In most bars and pubs here the music is silent enought to actualy have a conversation, and drinking a bit helps to lighten up the situation a bit.
Although I do get realy drunk on certain special occasions. The thing that ruins the atmosphere most times for me, are the disgusting people sometimes going in and out, or 14 year old constant puking fools.
I think there`s a bit of a cultural misunderstanding here. Drinking is pritty much part of German culture and almoust certainly British culture, maybe eaven European culture.

The Germans and Brits and their beer, and the French and their wine, and the Irish and their whiskey. I don't know what perception people have of Americans, but I prefer scotch or potato vodka.

As long as it gets you where you want to go, it's all good.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

Clichés all of them, I dont prefer anything specific, neighter do I think anyone else does.
How I see american drinking culture? is there something that can be called "american drinking culture".
I was tought that most early settlers into america were puritans and calvinists and therefor american culture is ver sober and prude.
while here almoust every district has it`s own brewery.

I could be said to live up to the stereotype, in that I do enjoy a nice pint of bitter (Banks's ftw!), but on the other hand the last time I got drunk it was on bourbon.

You poor, poor man. I hope your Rocky feels better soon.
I'm suddenly feeling like a freak in that I've never given my tool a name. I wonder if there are books of names for penii? Should I post a picture so you all can help me think of a name?
I couldn't help thinking you need to get a picture when you mentioned having trouble using the pee jug. Still, no bragging rights would be worth going through what you endured.

Back in the day, maybe (and I was making a joke about clichés). But here in North Carolina, you can't go from one district in a city to another without hitting a microbrewery, or at the very least a pub/bar that houses a multitude of different kinds of beer. They take it seriously in this state. Virginia, the state just above me, is more about wine. Up there you can't throw a stone without hitting a different vineyard, and most of them are very, very good. Cardinal Vineyards was making a riesling for a while that tasted like that last chilly day just as spring is bursting - wet and cool and floral and sweet. mmmmm.
Most bars or chain restaurants in American serve only big name stuff, and only 4 or 5 at that, but there's been a trend lately to shift away from the cheap "big name" beer like Budweiser or Miller and try lesser known things, or to demand stuff from local brewers. We're very lucky in NC to be close to so many options.
These guys http://www.highlandbrewing.com/ have gotten pretty big, distributing all over the south-east. I love their oatmeal porter.
The man and I are going to a Halloween party tomorrow where two guys who homebrew will have 5 different kegs of beer waiting for us. Not only do the breweries take it seriously, but the individuals are into it as well. I'm going to consider putting in hops next year. One of them is starting a brewery and both have said if in the next 3 years mine produce, they'll use 'em.

How's having everyone overuse the same drug over and over again? Working out swimmingly? I thought so.
Does one drug still fit all?
Many are there because they like it. Many others are there simply because there is nothing else legal to grant them a release.

I don't do anything in half measures.
That, and I have social anxieties. So if there's other people involved, I usually shotgun a triple shot of tequila to start things off.

Thanks, I really do appreciate all the kind sentiments.
As far as pet names go, I was inspired years ago by a parody song I'd heard called "Pet Names for Genitalia", to the tune of "We Didn't Start the Fire". It goes something like "Pet names for genitalia/the girls think of 'em/you gotta love 'em" and it popped into my head one night while snuggling up in bed. I asked Sam if she could think of a name and she came up with Bonnie (the boner). Consequently his counterpart got christened Connie, for similar reasons.

I'd have needed a wide angle lens for that! Mind, you're quite right. Now if I could have acquired the girth without having to go through all that, or retained it during the healing process, that's a totally different ballgame...
