Halloween

RE: Halloween
I will dress as Hagrid and ride my scooter around the neighborhood, with my dog on the front, saying to each child "You're a wizard, (fill in name)." Oh yeah, my kids will be walking around somewhere.

Hehehe, my son is going to wear a monkey costume (only slightly more convincing than his birthday suit) and I'll be donning a banana outfit.....
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

RE: Halloween
First! Put up 2 giant signs in front of my house; one saying "BE AWARE OF THE THING!" second "YOU ARE ENTERING A MINEFIELD!"
Then bunker myself up in the apartment, hoping neighbours or others wont remove the signs.
If kids come I`ll let my Croatian roommate scream arround in his native tounge, kids might think that`s russian and will run away in fear of a sterotypical russian.
Maybe I could still buy some razorwire.

hahahahahaha

Best defense - live on a dead end street. Parents abhor those - like all creeps live on them or something. I don't expect to get a single knock the entire night, and instead plan to be sipping Johnnie Walker Black and teasing my boyfriend into mauling me.

Maybe the screams will make the neighbors go away too. Wink

RE: Halloween
Halloween is one of my favorite holidays! Hubby is dressing up as Dr. Horrible (I made his costume, well, he made the ray gun), and I'm an autumn fairy, and our little one is a knight in shining armor. Smile Lots of work went into all of those costumes.

Already went to a haunted house with the little one last Friday, she did great! She just loves being scared. Already got to wear our costumes on Saturday, as we went to a kid in her class's birthday/Halloween party, and that was tons of fun. Lots of games and food and candy already.
Today she's going on her first field trip (I'm terribly nervous), to a pumpkin patch. It's rainy and cold outside...fun. Well, she'll probably have fun anyway, lol. Tomorrow I have to make 2 dozen cookies for the class halloween party, and decorate them all with the little one, too. Oh, and we painted 4 pumpkins and carved 2 over the last week. And our house is decorated top to bottom. Smile Mostly homemade decorations as well, lots of fun!!
Then on Halloween itself, she'll have her class party, then Grandpa comes to visit (as a pirate) and we all go Trick-or-treating at the mall, followed by going door to door to neighbors, weather permitting.

I'll post our halloween pics Thursday.

So yeah, Halloween is a very busy time for me. I love it!

RE: Halloween
Well, it isn't really any tradition here. The closest we have is carnaval or mardi gras as the french say. any excuse for people to party is ok in my book.

RE: Halloween
My uncle use to ask the kids inside and served them cake on plates with a cup of hot chocolate and other sweet stuff. that freaked some parents out and they wouldn`t let their kids go there anymore.
