Suicide Prevention

The question should be;

How come people don't change their lifestyle despite the obvious health risks?

Edit; Wrong answers;

Quote:' 63% of Australian adults are overweight. 63% of adults choose an unhealthy "gluttonous" lifestyle.'

'but I'm pointing out to you that these idiots that endanger their health intentionally'

'all caused by being fat and lazy'

I think most are like Zen and have the attitude of "it won't happen to me".

I think you show a poor judgement of obese people.

It severely affects your energy levels. You are at increased risk of cancer (just like smokers are at increased risk of cancer), of diabetes and cardiovascular disease. To claim there are no effects whatsoever is a plain stupid, ignorant "redneck" type thinking. Try this.

Doing something that you know in advance is bad for your health, and then waiting around to see what the health consequences will be is the stupidest thing I've ever heard of! "Uhh nothing's happened yet so it's all good". Why risk it? Why would any parent deliberately put themselves at a greater risk of 1. not being their for their children and 2. becoming a burden on their children?

Sorry but this attitude of "I don't care" is total bullshit. Obesity is an epidemic, why be a part of it?

This is what I love about xtians...they're going to heaven yet they're scared shitless of dying.

Something doesn't add up.

Why care about your health and extending your life on this planet if you're so sure you've got everlasting cakes and doughnuts upstairs? Which won't ever kill you! (again)
You are currently experiencing a lucky and very brief window of awareness, sandwiched in between two periods of timeless and utter nothingness. So why not make the most of it, and stop wasting your life away trying to convince other people that there is something else? The reality is obvious.

You can't force people to make a choice. You can't force them to eat healthy. It doesn't matter what we think about obese people. We have no control over their choices. If they want to eat themselves to death, we let them. If they want to get fit and slim down, we let them.

No kidding. Starts out as something meaningful, and turns into.... something else entirely.
