No I think its more likely they didn't see god as necessary to describe our world. Time always changes that is the nature of time. god is nonsense, I knew that when they used to make me pray at primary school. The sooner god falls into history as another myth the better.

It would seem God is very loath to fall into history, the debate hasn't really changed as much as people think for thousands of years. Would this this quote be so out of place today yet it was written how long ago?

Really? because according to the OT you couldn't go anywhere in the middle east with tripping over a burning bush or a murdered population.

Which raises another question, why did your god see fit to only reveal himself to a tribe in the desert?
Why did he not reveal himself to people all over the planet?

As anyone well aquainted with logical reasoning knows, its impossible to prove the non-existence of something.

As anyone well acquainted with logical reasoning knows, that's not true. The only reason this pops so often while discussing god is because theists love to move the goal-posts regarding what would prove its non-existence.

So if a proof that God does not exist is impossible, does this mean that beyond the proof of balance of probability ( which has seen many an innocent person executed wrongly ) based on our current level of science, any belief in athiesm or theism ultimately is a faith choice on two sides of same coin.

Even if such proof was impossible, which it is not, it'd still not be a matter of faith because most of the explicitly stated conceptions of god are logically absurd and impossible.

My point was very simple; if you read the passage you would with a few changes in words or phrasiology recognize that its basically the same debate that this forum is dealing with and as the passage is probably over 3000 years old it would suggest that athiests wishing for God to leave completely the human experience for many people may be waiting a long time. And as far as your questions go ; I gave you the answer, start some threads on this site and I will be happy to join in and stay on topic or on a Christian / Jewish site if you have the balls to do it and the intelligence to debate your point in a less comfortable place than this forum lol
