Why humans are so distinct from other species?

RE: Why humans are so distinct from other species?
Intelligence may have been a byproduct of cooked food once we started using fire. This allowed vast amounts of energy to be metabolised and this energy was made available for greater brain development.

Humans also invented mathematics, numerous languages, the wheel etc.

Were different, we are still animals, but technology and tools make us different. We've made tools to kill eachother, tools to look at the heavens and tools to take us there.
Last I remember, lions don't commit genocide, and penguins haven't mastered flight.

And you would know this how exactly?

That no animal is capable of learning algebra? Well none have been shown to so far.

Second off most humans in the First World DO learn some basic form of algebra. I don't think we have a genetic advantage over those in the third world. I'm not really sure what you are objecting to.

Humorously, "algebra" is an Arabic word. I'm surprised that the republicunts and their jesus-freak asshole allies haven't demanded a new term for it...like "Freedom Numbers" or insisted it be banned from classrooms altogether.

They need algebra to count money.

I'll bet there are some who wouldn't teach it to their kids for fear of awakening critical thinking skills which might undermine their 'settled beliefs'.

Well, I an certainly relieved that you didn't take my position seriously. Otherwise I might be burdened with a sense of responsibility for causing your neurotic outburst at the perceived contradiction.

Of course he could not possibly know because you have not yet condensed to grant him the necessary power of self-learning by observation.

Imo it all has to do with evolution. Physically we're weaker than a lot of animals, slower, can't fly, can't kill prey with only our teeth/nails. Because of this we had to rely on our brain more than other animals, we had to come up with ways to kill larger animals, ways to keep ourselves warm, etc. Because we have to rely on our brain so much I believe our brain began to become more developed so that we can survive. The smarter ones of our species are the ones who survived and they passed down their genes and so on.

Humans, in proper shape, have the most running endurance of land animals. Big Grin
