Why Does God Need A Creator?
#11
RE: Why Does God Need A Creator?
Not only is there no evidence for a creator, but the very notion defies logic. To paraphrase Richard Carrier, if God is the creator of all time and space, then how could he exist if there was not yet space for him to occupy, or act if there was no time in which said actions could occur?

Whether it's a random mess of particles gradually forming stars, planets, galaxies, single-cell life forms evolving into a tremendous variety of multicellular organisms, or humankind going from scattered primitive villages to a technologically-advanced, global civilization, everything we see involves simple things become ever more complex. So does it really make sense that if we go all the way back to the beginning, we'd find not the most basic primordial void, but an all-knowing, all-powerful god?

You mean it defied physical laws. Perhaps you and he both missed the bit where this was a supernatural being doing the creating.

Okay, so if there is another, "supernatural" dimension in which God resides, who or what created that? Again, which makes more sense...the time and space which we occupy was created by an uncreated creator residing in uncreated time and space, or that our time and space is itself uncreated?

And if by definition the supernatural defies logic as your comment suggests, then either the very concept of logic is rendered meaningless, or the supernatural can be safely dismissed as illogical.

It's the old argument, if god made everything, where was he when he made it?
The meek shall inherit the Earth, the rest of us will fly to the stars.

Never underestimate the power of very stupid people in large groups

Arguing with an engineer is like wrestling with a pig in mud ..... after a while you realise that the pig likes it!

You mean another natural creation in which time still dictates order. There you fail.

Supernatural has to be illogical if you limit logic to natural.

Supernatural has to be illogical because it is human-invented nonsense.

Logic being human invention....

... sounds like the opening to an argument which can do absolutely nothing to validate claims of the supernatural.

You wave your hands in the air and abandon logic. How poetic. Adopt logic and you can consider ideas such as the supernatural.
