If I die, I don't think I'll really care about not making any money lol. And nicely said Rhizo, I mostly just want it for the thrill i guess, and the financial aid. I'll finally get to go other places than the GA I've lived in all of my life. ;\\

Fuck dude! If you want a thrill try meth or rock climbing! Ok, avoid rock climbing because it is habit forming!

LittleGrimlin1, I encourage you fascination with the Military and computers. The Military can build good trates that will benifit you in later life. I am still waiting for (the Talk) concerning your beliefs. Let me know and I will listen. You know I support you in life as long as it doesn't clearly lead to self destruction. Love Dad

Dear Dad
You're right, mindless obedience and shooting things when you're startled are valuable attributes in civilian life. I might become a police officer.
The talk on my beliefs may be short, seeing as I don't have any.
Love
Your son Fang.

Padraic - that is a rather douchebag of a response to a rather open statement of caring. The part of "You know I support you in life as long as it doesn't clearly lead to self destruction." Every parent I've met and including my own say the same thing. Assuming that is his father, I appreciate the honesty and candor in bothering to post publicly for us to see as well. And your blatant badmouthing of the military pisses me off. There are bad things, but there are good things as well. And no, blind obedience is not at all representative of the military, especially for anyone who wants to move up through the ranks. Using that head can save your life, your men and your career.
You may have a bone to pick and legitimate criticism about the military. Fine. Give that. But leave the mindless baying behind.

I was taking the piss.It was not my intention to give offence. Having served in the military,I have some idea what it's like. I have only pity and/or contempt for those who choose it as a career. You don't like my view, tough.
I am not remotely interested in meeting your expectations or complying with your values. If you post something on a forum it's fair game.I will post what I want when I want, within forum rules.

The military is a damn fast road to 'self-destruction' if I've ever known one. But at least LG1's father (assuming that it is indeed him ) has the nerve to seek out what his son is feeling, and state that he will accept his son for whatever he chooses (though regrettably he had to note 'so long as it doesn't lead to self destruction', which is an unwise tact).
Nonetheless... that is something I've never had.

What a lovely message from a supportive dad A lot of people don't have that...I second you on the fact that littlegrimlin should not lead himself to self destruction. We only have one life to live!
PS: Take it easy on the lill' man when you have "the talk"
