In that case I can tell you why I don’t believe in your God. It’s because your stories of him are demonstrably false. It is fiction. Some of it borrowed from the stories of other cultures of the time. Stories which you yourself have discounted. The rest is a mixture of fantasy and greatly exaggerated accounts of a handful of historical people and places. There was no global flood. No exodus of 600,000 men and their families from Egypt. No conquest of Canaan. There was no Adam and Eve and no original sin. Without original sin no need for Jesus.

Your God evolved over time from a minor member of a pantheon of gods into the all-powerful (except he really wasn’t though was he?) psychopathic mass murder of your stories. Unsurprisingly his morals changed as those who believed in him needed them to. The evidence tells us your God is no different than the thousands of other gods you yourself discount. I find your faith in him despite the evidence to the contrary exceedingly sad.

Well if you believe in witches, Noahs ark and adam and eve, I don't really need proof to not believe in magic, talking snakes, and a magic boat that can fit in every animal in the world.
But if you were to ask me I'd say the proof was the laws of physics, the theory of evolution and biology are proof that these things didn't happen.

It is pointless for one to play the "do you know more than god?" card.

In order for it to be valid, one must first demonstrate both that god exists and is omnipotent (Or at least unfathomably powerful, as it would be difficult to prove absolute omnipotence).

Barring that, the judgments of "god" might very well simply be the judgments of stone age people who invented him. If they don't make sense, maybe that isn't god working in mysterious ways, but simply an error. Isn't it odd that god to made two covenants? He would have to know that one set of rules was inferior...

I have nothing deserving of being called evidence for or against God. But that isn't my biggest problem. I really have no idea what attributes exactly a god needs to qualify as one.

Apparently a really old, wise and powerful race of aliens wouldn't qualify. The Christian god is said to have limitless omni- powers, but is that a defining characteristic of gods generally? I don't know. Likewise with eternal being. How could we possibly know?

Do gods have to be responsible for creating something from nothing? Do they qualify if they work with what they have at hand or do they literally have to wink it into existence? Even if they do create stuff, does the stuff they create have to represent a deliberate, high quality attempt on their part? What if some enormous, ancient beings went about literally shitting galaxies? If those galaxies give rise to planets, abiogenesis and sentient beings, would that qualify them for the god moniker? What I'm asking is, if a being gives rise to life but only unintentionally, does that make it a god?

How about morality and judgment? Does a god have to be obsessed with our manners? What if it really doesn't give a shit what we do? Hell, it might not even be any more aware of us than we are of it. To count as a god, does the being have to care what we do and sort us out for eternal reward or torture?

There is more that puzzles me about the term "god" but I think you get my drift. Can you help me out at all? We sure can't acquire any evidence for gods if we can't agree on what we're looking for. Can you really blame me for dismissing the whole question without forming any belief about gods whatsoever? Ever since I went out one night with my sack calling for snipe and came home without any, I've had to question whether half the shit people claim is true at all. Is god a hoax? Hell if I know.

Gods actually exist!

Gods are fictional characters created by Humans used in fairy tales -legends - and myths - made up by humans in order to control other humans.

Over the centuries - there have been thousands of such "gods" - with various claims about them and what they supposedly did and/or could do. As humanity developed - more and more religions were created by humans - and as the countries these humans lived in were overrun by other humans - religions were integrated into other religions - and various claims were added to the already laughable claims that cannot all be true at the same time.

Many of these religions have writings which are sometimes called scripture - and they outline what the gods did - except that of course some other god did those things before yours did. These early scriptures - from ancient times - all reflect that beliefs of the people who created them at those times - which is how you can determine they were created by those humans. Example - in ancient times - people believed the earth was flat - it might have been round - or concave - but people actually believed that if you climbed a high enough mountain you could see EVERYTHING on earth - which we NOW know is not possible. When you see stories like this in a supposedly perfect inerrant work - you can identify the human source and call it fiction - as for example - the xtian bible is fiction.

Religions - organized beliefs in these fictional characters - were created by the ruling class to control other humans - and have them follow in line. Today - with education and science - religions are no longer of any use - except to waste money.

Then you'll speak of the effects it made in you as proof. I can't see it, and I didn't see you eating it, so for all I know the effects were caused by a number of other things. No, God didn't cure my friend from cancer... she had chemo! No, God didn't cure my mother's tumors. She had her ovaries taken out! No, you will never see a man with out an arm all of a sudden get one. No, your God does not protect people who believe from rape or other things. That's so stupid I can't begin at a good starting point. Ahhhh! I don't know where to start.

Explain all the natural disasters. You mean to tell me not one of the people who died loved and served God with all their strength? I said it before, I grew up as Christian as Christian can get and still your god did not protect me from traumatic events that still keep me up from sleep many nights. No amount of prayer helped. No amount of faith helped (at least a little) with my aunt's pain when she was agonizing for months because her kidneys sucked. No amount of faith helped any of the kids that I work with from what they go through every day. It would take you one day in their shoes to question your faith. One day! One fucken day. Don't tell me that Psalms what's it's name says wisherwasher because that doesn't prove anything. I see what I see and it's bullshit. I don't need to prove that God exists but doesn't care. I see God's actions thus I see God, I talk with Him and hear from Him, so your statement is false. By the way God is not a super being, God is more than you can imagine, until you've recognized God's love in your life you have not experienced God and thus can not realize who He is.
