Some news agencies are reporting that a 20-year old Saudi national is a suspect. He is being treated at a Boston-area hospital and is in guarded condition.

It was definitely bombs, festive. Three of them went off. One was a controlled detonation. They are looking at several more now. Much of the city has been evacuated. The BPD Police Scanner is available online. I can't be arsed to link it.

Apparently there were 3, one also went off at the JFK Library.

The JFK Library was apparently just an unrelated fire from a mechanicals room, not an explosion. I heard this on an on-line comment from a purported employee of the library.

I don't buy this. It's too early to have a suspect, and whoever did it is unlikely to have stayed close enough to be injured after planting the bombs..

This doesn't feel like it has Islamists behind it. I heard it's "tax day" (whatever that is?) in Boston today, so it's probably a domestic issue.

I don't buy this. It's too early to have a suspect, and whoever did it is unlikely to have stayed close enough to be injured after planting the bombs..

This doesn't feel like it has Islamists behind it. I heard it's "tax day" (whatever that is?) in Boston today, so it's probably a domestic issue.

Yeah, I take it with a grain of salt too.

The only way I can see them having a suspect is if he was injured during the blast (or from something unrelated) and he said something to medical personnel.
