I don't suppose you have an examples of left wing terrorism that have occurred within the last decade that would compare to this list, last updated in 2011.

Having to go back to the 70s is a bit of an exaggeration. According to the FBI, right-wing domestic terrorism only overtook left-wing domestic terrorism in the 1990s. The decline has more to do with the fall of communism and the end of the cold war than any sort of purity on part of left wing ideology. Regardless there are still plenty of left-wing terrorist groups running around.

It's likely because it is a very popular event. It's highly televised, it's international and it took place on Patriot's Day this year. I doubt the latter really had much to do with it, as it is only a holiday in Massachusetts, but it was still a big event. It is no accident that it happened there, at the finish line.

I understand people in the local area who are upset and I sympathise with them but...

3 people die over 3000 miles away and it is all people who post on my social media care about.

It is times like this that I have some despair for humanity. I'm not sure why American lives should mean more.

If the reaction is because 'innocent' lives were lost in explosions then I still don't really get it.
