You can't prove non-existence. (Unless in special situations)
Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them. Impersonation is treason.
However you have no evidence that your god or any other god exists so it is a fairly reasonable conclusion that all theists are full of shit.
I know there is no god just as I know there is no leprechaun currently sitting on my lap.

Great - can you prove the non-existence of evidence?

Only in special situations: For example; someone tells me that in their hand was a visible, tangible small pony and I will be able to see it. I look at their open hand, and it's not there. But, if someone says "There's a pony in my hand." and I say "I can't see it..." and they come back with "That's because it's invisible." So I try and touch it, and they tell me "You can't feel it either." Then it becomes more and more like God claims. (April 23, 2013 at 1:16 pm)Dawud Wrote: Great - can you prove the non-existence of evidence? Sure. Every time I ask one of you theistic fuckers for evidence you never have any. Therefore, at this time, there is no evidence. If you ever find some feel free to present it and we can discuss it. Until then you may as well jerk off. You'll accomplish more. (April 23, 2013 at 1:10 pm)Dawud Wrote: Can you really know that there is no such thing as God? All depends on the attributes of the particular god you are referring to. The law of non-contradiction gets me extremely close to being certain that certain gods can not exist. But if you are referring to some sort of Deistic, 'god of first cause' type of god, I think it is unknowable whether that god exists or not. You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence. |
