Science confirms the Bible?
RE: Science confirms the Bible?
Out of this whole "The bible knew scientific facts before science did" idea, when is the bible going to admit that evolution is real? About the closest it gets is when Christians try to shoehorn the passage about the behemoth to mean that it was talking about dinosaurs. Unfortunately where they go astray is when they claim that man and dinosaurs lived at the same time.
Christian apologetics is the art of rolling a dog turd in sugar and selling it as a donut.

A considerable amount came up.
God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

Ah, yes....the mysterious "fountains of the deep!"

Don't suppose you have any evidence for them, huh?

Didn't think so.

I can't wait to see you prove the 'fountains of the deep' hypothesis.

I don't suppose you could lay some of this Christian rationality upon us? You know, let us in on this secret how to "choose Christ rationally?" It shouldn't be too hard if you've met thousands of people that have all done it.

It's very simple. You examine the information and test it's validity. Like I and my fellow Christians do on these forums daily. I/we find no objections to the points of logic. You get to a point where the evidence to support belief is overwhelming. From there you can decide to act upon your trust. That is where faith begins.

I wonder what it takes for a person to have such deep trust that what one's own mind produces is a literal connection to the creator of the universe and not any one of a hundred infinitely more plausible alternative explanations. I also wonder why making this connection is impossible without first being told that there is a creator to connect to.

Do you believe in evolution frodo?
If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!

Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite.

Dead wrong.  The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment.

Quote:Some people deserve hell.

I say again:  No exceptions.  Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it.  As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong.

You find no objections to the "points of logic: because there are NONE you ever post that can be objected to.

If the evidence to support the belief is overwhelming - why is it that the overwhelming majority of people in the world do not believe?

And if the evidence is so overwhelming - why is it YOU never post that evidence to begin with as well?

The fact is - there is NO mention of the christ in the historical record of his supposed time. There are enough contradictions and errors in the bible to show that it is nothing more than the myths and legends of people of the times when it was written/ WE can even state that some of the problems date the bible stories to times after that of the supposed christ.

THe story also conflicts with actual Roman law - in the Golden age of Rome - as well in many places. In addition - the story cleary is not logical on many levels - once you understand that most of the Old Testament is not true. Worse - every year - we find more and more of the bible slipping into the are of MYTH and legend - and less and less of it being true.

IF you apply the same rules to xtianity that you apply to other religious beliefs - none of them actually survive. THEY all have things that contradict REALITY - and if the bible is supposedly the inspired word of an all knowing god - then there should be NOTHING that conflicts with reality.

Example - the claim that the earth is a sphere is NOT in the bible - it is a CIRCLE in the story - and a circle is a FLAT TWO Dimensional object - I can draw one on a flat piece of paper - claiming that a circle is a sphere is simply another way xtians SPIN the bible today - that for 1600 years did not happen.

Sorry - but the evidence is overwhelmingly against that story being true -and every year - that becomes more and more obvious.

If that was true, everyone would believe without question. There is no proof. Faith is not proof, and faith is all any religious believer has. Faith, after all, is the veritable lack of evidence.
