Definitely Cracker Barrel over iHOP, Waffle House or Perkins. For that matter I'd rather eat at a Denny's than iHOP or Waffle House.
If anyone is ever in Huntsville the Blue Plate Cafe is probably the best place for a country breakfast now that Aunt Eunice is dead and they closed the Country Cafe. Gibson's BBQ serves a pretty good breakfast too.

I'm not American, gorramit! But yeah, I've been to IHOP as a kid and it was awesome! We have nothing like it here in Finland.
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura
tough choice
I have WH, IHop, Cracker B, Mimi's all nearby and when I lived in MN we used to eat at Perkins & Bob Evans. I'm going with IHop because I'm a pancake girl and they put a whole pot coffee on the table. now my tummy is growling.
I voted IHOP, because I spent a hellish summer working at a Waffle House. Everyone I worked with had major problems with various forms of speed, from OTC caffiene pills to meth. Also, people would come in, sit around for hours drinking coffee. At that time it was $0.86 for a bottomless cup. I'd diligently refill their cups for a $0.14 tip to go along with my slave wage of $2.15 an hour. I know IHOP isn't any better, but I never worked there.
I loved IHOP as a little kid, but the few times in the 90's I went, it got much worse. Never been to a Waffle House, but I'd love to try. Heard about them. I do like Bob Evans.
Is there a chain that sells a good German pancake (also called, I think, a baby dutch)?

Waffle House, without a doubt. I've lived in a number of places in the past 18 years or so, and now where I'm living (and plan to stay for a good while), there are no Waffle Houses. Only dumb iHOPs. It's a shame.

Plus they serve it with a muffin and have great coffee.
We don't have either of those here. But we do have My Old Dutch, which is pretty good.
