Christian Minister responsible for thousands leaving the church

What on earth do you mean by this? That only theists can be responsible? Or that you have to go to church to practice your faith?
Out of your holy text, by your homeboy:

Matt. 6:6: But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

So it isn't at all necessary to go to a church to practice your faith, nor can you say who does and who doesn't.
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura

.... (more likely) they are lazy, and don't think they need church or religion.

I've known them all for years...20+ as a matter of fact! I see them at churches for weddings, funerals and memorials for fallen brothers & sisters.

They don't hate religion or God... they hate responsibility. Like most who don't practice their faith.

Interesting. If they don't think they need church or religion and yet believe in God then surely it is more likely that they feel that given church or religion doesn't offer the right pathway to him.

I cannot imagine that someone who believes in God, life everlasting, heaven, hell and the rest of it would risk it all because they are too lazy to get out of bed on a Sunday morning.

Laziness would seem to me to be the most unlikely of explanations.

I mean what I said! You don't know them, me or the situation.

I would say you are clueless. These are people I have been in church with arm to arm. Who believe in God. But sheeplishly avoid their Faith.

If they didn't believe in God, then this wouldn't be an issue!

It has nothing to do with church... It has to do with practicing ones faith. We need everyone to stand up for the Lord!

Matt 18:20 "Whenever 2 or more are gathered in my name, there I am."

Laziness is a disease. One that most times needs some type of doctor, or medicine.

Just the more pitiful.

Quote:You don't know ... me

Thank goodness!

Perhaps. Probably am. Especially to why this is suddenly the focus of the discussion, when the thread is supposed to be about a Finnish government employee talking shit and people quitting church in response Thinking

Quote:Who believe in God. But sheeplishly avoid their Faith.

Theirs? Or yours?

Quote: We need everyone to stand up for the Lord!

If he is so awesome as he's supposed to be, puny little humans like yourself doesn't need to stand up for him.

Quote:Matt 18:20 "Whenever 2 or more are gathered in my name, there I am."

And everywhere else.

It's amusing watching the religious use scripture.

Sort of like watching a three year old explain why he believes in Santa.
