There's not enough bleach in the world to clean up the shit of the church.
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura

Very profound and enlightening observation! Did you make that up?
Is there anything that doesn't get dirty?

Well you do sound a tad annoying. No wonder they moved.

My response would have been, "No, my main reason is that religion is a crock of shit!"

How do you clean up an administration if you're just a voter? You vote for their opponents until they clean up their act.
How do you clean up a church if you're just a member? You keep leaving until they clean up their act.
When the Church becomes responsive to its members, they'll stop leaving. If it doesn't intend to become responsive to its members, they're in the wrong church anyway.

Or maybe they had slowly been coming to the realization that your religion is a sham, and this was the straw that broke the camel's back?
And perhaps your claim that they were looking for an excuse is just a defense mechanism against acknowledging that people can try your religion and come to the conclusion that it isn't real?

Don't pride yourself on some revelation here!
.... (more likely) they are lazy, and don't think they need church or religion.
I've known them all for years...20+ as a matter of fact! I see them at churches for weddings, funerals and memorials for fallen brothers & sisters.
They don't hate religion or God... they hate responsibility. Like most who don't practice their faith.

The only one around here steeped in the BS of religion is you.
