Well, on the bright side, this is confirmation that fuckwittery isn't a purely American phenomenon.

[quote The Telegraph] "Another shameful and disgraceful gesture. Solidarity with the Minister Kyenge. Now let's just isolate the idiots," Rome Mayor Gianni Alemanno said. [quote]
The fun thing it does not say is that Alemanno is an (ex?) fascist
"Every luxury has a deep price. Every indulgence, a cosmic cost. Each fiber of pleasure you experience causes equivalent pain somewhere else. This is the first law of emodynamics [sic]. Joy can be neither created nor destroyed. The balance of happiness is constant.
Fact: Every time you eat a bite of cake, someone gets horsewhipped.
Facter: Every time two people kiss, an orphanage collapses.
Factest: Every time a baby is born, an innocent animal is severely mocked for its physical appearance. Don't be a pleasure hog. Your every smile is a dagger. Happiness is murder.
Vote "yes" on Proposition 1321. Think of some kids. Some kids."

That entire family runs red with fascism; it's practically in their DNA.

Countries down on their luck economically, not doing well geopolitically, and haunted by the fear that they on teetering on the edge of becoming has beens tend to think the most highly of their own "race" and most virulently disparaging of other "races".

Well, its pointless to throw bananas at an appointed minister. They should have attacked the guy who appointed him instead. I've no problem with people who dislike foreign rulers within their country, but their anger is misdirected.

You are partly right, but in Italy things tend to go a little bit differently... It's not really about economy, it's mostly a leftover of fascism (being in Rome does not help, either). If it had happened in the north I would have said it was because of those Northern League twats who hate immigrants, but this was not the case. I think this would have happened even if we fared well economically. Those fascists never give up their dumbfuckery.

Attacking the president of the Republic? Highly unlikely, since Giorgio Napolitano is very popular and is the closest a president of the Republic can get to a (british) monarch in matters of respect. Also, Cecile Kyenge is very, very far from "ruling the country": her ministry is the Ministry for Integration - that means, since there are immigrants, let's try and make their stay in Italy nice and fair. And since she was an immigrant (she came in Italy to study medicine) and has acquired over the years italian citizenship, she was the most suitable person for that place. Yet there are some fuckwits who like to insult her because she is black and who want her to give up. Fortunately, they are a small minority. Unfortunately, they are a loud one.
