A warning that preaching won't be allowed and that they should only attend of they are thicked skinned to the theist members won't be too far out of line I think.

If someone sets up something for the uk that isn't too far away from me I'll be happy to attend.

Mods - are there any rules against doing this? Has it been attempted before?

O well, that was one good knee jerking action! and I appreciate it!
Exactly, agreed with you Smile. We should do have some rules for theists.

About the gathering, seems like lots of you are from UK. You guys could do it , probably one a month or so at least Smile .

Sadly for me, I from Nepal. I'd have to make my own friends who will want to along and have a gathering. I'll try my best on this.

Lastly, I hope its not against the rules to discuss this as you pointed out. Hmm.

If you want unity and hive-mind, I suggest A+. If that's not what you had in mind, I say that we do not need to gather under the banner of atheism and instead of focusing on points that actually matter, e.g. education for everyone Tongue
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura

Yes, sounds awesome. Indeed we should target areas like education, human rights, poverty and other things.

Those are my sentiments as well, but it has nothing to do with me being an atheist.. Wink

I guess not. But it makes us a better candidate to solve problems. Look at how religion tries to solve these problems and fails miserably bad every time.

I'm a member of The BHA, GALHA and Central London Humanists. But I've never been to any of their meet-ups though.

I could give it a spin. I have a feeling most people wouldn't be particularly interested in watching me have sex though.

As a Dudeist, it is my job to say: relax, man. We don't need our own country. Atheists don't need to get together and meet up or anything of that sort. We can respect other religions fine as long as those with religion aren't being jerks about it. Inner...and outer harmony, man. We're all one human race. Let's all get together and have a drink, (like someone mentioned on the first page).

Something tells me you didn't get the reference to the Atheism+ movement:
