Of course. Jesus clarifies the embellishment made by Moses....where exactly? Oh, right. He doesn't. This is but another example of a creative liberty taken by you to ignore the stupid shit inherent to your beliefs.

Not the point.

RE: Religious beliefs need to stop.
I am glad you are being exposed to us here. One day, when your by yourself, talking...to yourself, you will realize, it's just you...talking to yourself. You will feel a cloud of stupidity and embarrassment setting in on you as you begin your moment of clarity while simultaneously recalling the dumb shit you said on here and many other places. You will avoid thinking about these places like the plague, in hopes that nobody will remember that you actually used to believe this stuff. You will be shamed by it, for a while. It will seem like the most intellectually embarrassing belief of your life. But one day, out of curiosity, you will try to find this thread and others containing posts made by your old religious self. You will laugh, and you will be welcomed back, even by those that remember you. You'll just need to change your religious views to something a little more liberating. Lots of us believed this stupid shit before. Many of us were on the side you are on at one point. The truth is, you really can't see the forest from the trees. But hopefully, one day you will return after your realization, and you can see the forest in all of its magnificent bullshit! Just remember that you will still be welcome back, and you'll have plenty of training in handling the worst arguments that can be made for a God, arguments like the ones you are currently having obliviously ripped to shreds. Life is so funny.

However, you may purchase male or female slaves from among the foreigners who live among you. You may also purchase the children of such resident foreigners, including those who have been born in your land. You may treat them as your property, passing them on to your children as a permanent inheritance. You may treat your slaves like this, but the people of Israel, your relatives, must never be treated this way. (Leviticus 25:44-46 NLT)

Slaves, obey your earthly masters with deep respect and fear. Serve them sincerely as you would serve Christ. (Ephesians 6:5 NLT)

When a man strikes his male or female slave with a rod so hard that the slave dies under his hand, he shall be punished. If, however, the slave survives for a day or two, he is not to be punished, since the slave is his own property. (Exodus 21:20-21 NAB) Disappointed

I'm assuming God is the superstar, and Jesus was supposedly his PR rep? Jesus did a shitty job of damage control for not clearing up these little miscues spoken by the divine entity. Jesus

1) And Jesus answered and said to them, "Truly I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, `Be taken up and cast into the sea,' it will happen. "And all things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive."

Jesus should have clarified that this one is bullshit from the get go. I can't imagine all the disappointed Christian amputees that have no idea Jesus said this. Why does God hate amputees? Has there not been a single soldier wounded in battle, or a single Christian child that has had their legs ripped from them by a drunk driver that has warranted the regeneration of a limb? God has no problem readily curing things that are self limited, such as the flue, but the REALLY good miracles are being saved for....who exactly? Angel Cloud

Jesus himself was very clear on his stance on the Torah/Old Testament.

"Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill" (Matthew 5:17).

Fulfill means to bring into completion. You have to take everything you read in the Bible within this context.

One God, one Bible (with different variations/translations) one Christ several dozens of different Christian religions teaching different things and many millions of Christians each with their own individual views.

One day you realize that God has been talking to you the whole time but you weren't listening.

ROFLOL
Oh dear. You can't possibly think that this word is enough to absolve the bible of all of its ridiculous and insanely malevolent quotes from the God it depicts.

And all of that is strangely hard to tell apart from what the human mind creates. Christ included.

Please show me where Jesus "fulfills" the following rants from God. Please show me how Jesus, whom you are painting as the most incompetent Public Affairs agent in history, spun this in a manner in which you don't have to be a complete dumbass to believe it.

then I will do this to you: I will bring on you sudden terror, wasting diseases and fever that will destroy your sight and sap your strength- God

those who hate you will rule over you-God

will punish you for your sins seven times over.- A very just God

I will multiply your afflictions seven times over, as your sins deserve more justice from your God

I will send wild animals against you, and they will rob you of your children- Mike Tyson? Is that you? Nope. More Christian God!
