Salinger is one my favorite authors. Very happy to see this coming up. I have yet to finish Nine Stories as of yet. CITR and Franny and Zooey were fantastic, though. But, as everyone else, I read them in high school (not for required reading though). I was that kid that read the controversial stuff.

I'd read somewhere that he was writing right up until he died and that he had large filing cabinet full of stories that he willed to his daughter and that the ones he wanted published upon his death were color coded. So my only surprise is that this did happen sooner
