Oblivion.
Meh. Tom Cruise, along with Mel 'Fuck the Jews' Gibson, both suffer from letting their personal lunacy overshadow their art. At least for how I view them.
The movie itself did have a retro sci-fi vibe I did like, though.
Apophenia- Harold Lloyd? Sweet! That was a crazy mofo!

Mortal Instruments: City of Bones. My mother called it some CW shit, because it was all teen angsty and stuff. Oh, and more incesty awkwardness than Star Wars.

Riddick: Much better than Chronicles of Riddick but not as good as Pitch Black. The producers seemed to realize this, as any connection to Chronicles is dealt with in a brief flashback and then quickly forgotten. And we're left with a pretty good (if somewhat predictable) action sci-fi movie with a charismatic lead who manages to not ham it up. Unfortunately, the ending leaves things open enough that the next installment will probably be more like Chronicles. And I'm not convinced that they can make it work any better a second time than they did the first.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."
