I was just coming here to post that I watched this. It wasn't great, but it was better than I expected.

Iron Man III, I thought it was very good, still liked the first one best.

I was disappointed with Iron Man 3.
I just saw Don Jon. It was decent, but it failed to really capitalize on the opportunities to make the points it was trying to make.

I watched it the other night, and I was not really disappointed by it.

I saw, in my local theatre, Short Term 12, which is apparently based on a teen group home here in San Diego, but seems to have been filmed in San Francisco with due support from San Diego State.

Let Me In
Let The Right One In
These are very much the same movie. The same scenes, almost down to the exact dialogue, are repeated in the American remake of this Swedish horror film, right down to architectural styles. The difference between the original Ringu and The Ring are an apt comparison. For all that, they are remarkably different films. The American remake is bold and dark, whereas the Swedish original is light and natural. The direction, dialogue, and overall construction of the original is slightly better, yet for all that, I found the remake more emotionally satisfying. The films seem almost stereotypical reflections of the differences between the cinematic cultures. Yet it is the acting which sells both movies and which is excellent in both. If pressed, I'd have to give the nod to Lina Leandersson's Eli, and Kodi Smit-McPhees' Owen, leaving me split between the two films once again. Either way, I don't think you can go wrong.

I saw RED 2, and it was exactly what I expected. Not good, but entertaining and a fine action film with solid enough acting. Sir Anthony Hopkins was absolutely hilarious. Worth watching at least once.
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura
