Why atheism always has a burden of proof

They probably used the imagery of the Roman gods they were familar with at the time.

Almost as though they didn't know what he looked like, really.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

You're right they didn't. No-one knows what Hanibal of Carthage looked like either it doesn't prove he he didn't exist.

Probably, but what I find amusing is that Jesus' more ardent followers today want to drop bombs on people who look like this. If this guy showed up in the Deep South he'd probably be harassed out of town or else tracked down and shot. Then they'd go back to waiting for that white Jesus to show up.
Christian apologetics is the art of rolling a dog turd in sugar and selling it as a donut.

Did I say it did? On the other hand there are multiple attestations to Hannibal's life and works, though I personally am not familiar enough with the man to comment. Letters from other historical figures, writings of his own perhaps. Things which, if they existed for the JC character, would be paraded as first-resort proof. There's a reason why belief in the character is wholly reliant on faith.

Prove my vehicle does not run on pixy dust.

What the fuck does your stupid dodge have to do with the god you claim?

Prove to me Allah does not exist.
Prove to me Yahweh does not exist.
Prove to me Vishnu does not exist.
Prove to me I am not fucking Angelina Jolie.

I don't care if someone wants to claim Jesus was Chinese or an Eskimo, there is no such thing as godsperm and humans don't survive rigor mortis.

The Egyptians who believed the sun was a god, had more to point at than you do.

There are multiple attestations of Jesus the Christ who was raised from death!

Who would have made all of this up and what would be the motivation? Even if Jesus was just some kind of a wandering lunatic there's no reason to say he was a pure invention myths are generally based on something.

Who indeed?...
Perhaps the same would apply to who made up the Qur'an... or who made up the Vedas...?
Oh no, sorry... those weren't made up. They are actual misinterpreted manifestations of the one true god... yeah... sure...

What was the motivation to create a new religion, between 6000 and 1500 years ago?
Perhaps, control of the masses?
Perhaps, power over the people?
Perhaps, wealth.. more than kings?
