Why is having a mod on the ignore list against rules?

I still see Vinny G.'s threads and posts. All that I can't see is the content of those posts. I'm still very much aware that he's there, and the ignore feature doesn't prevent me from reading his posts when someone quotes them anyway. The ignore feature is functionally not worth very much.

I dunno, maybe it's because I enjoy getting into a rightly nasty scrap with people I don't like now and then.

I disagree. If you fear that you would yourself engage in behavior that could potentialy harm yourself when confronted with someone dispicable the possibility of avoiding someone without having the chance of reversing the decion of avoiding that person is helpfull.

"Stop me before I post again", sort of thing?
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Disgust. Do you never feel so utterly disgusted by a person that you take advantage of every single possible option you have to avoid such a person?
I know you weren't asking me, but I'm a nosy bitch, so: in real life, of course I have been so utterly disgusted by a person that I'd avoid them at any cost, although this usually comes along with fear of that person.

On the internet? Not so far. The rules of life don't extend to the internet, so I don't know that the people I dislike on forums aren't caricatures of their pent-up selves. And who cares, anyway? I'm some Texan woman. If I tell someone on a forum that I think they have a small penis and are dumb, WHO FUCKING CARES? I don't lose sleep because someone I don't know said something I don't like on a forum. I think it's sort of a loss of perspective to take it so seriously that you can't control real anger.

Or I'm quite possibly being a total asshole who scorns too much emotion in others (as my sweetheart sometimes accuses me of doing).

Kind of. In some way.

I generaly see anger and hate as a good thing that can motivate and help one to achieve goals when that anger and hate is being controled and chaneld.+

But when losing control it is best to be stoped or even better when not even being capable of losing control.

Tiberius willingly wronged me through dishonest behavior, I left the forum for 2 months out of disgust and rage and when coming back decided after some time that I do not want to engage in any form of conversation with him in any way since he hat lost all credibility and ,most importent of all: because I wanted to avoid lowering myself down on his dishonest character by enaging with him.

I dont avaoid people becasue of some arrogant, posh and idiotic delusion, but because I do not want to engage in any disgusting behavior that would force me to do rather savage things.

I don't fear that, because I have control over my actions. And I'm dealing with people who explain to me why they think mass murder is a good thing and why it's not wrong to slaughter children when God says so. I'm talking to Waldorf and Drich and John V, despicable people to the last. I can still ignore any of them if I feel like doing so.

Not to sound like an ass, because I respect you, but a little self control will solve all your problems here.

Fear? Not fear of another person, in my case. But the fear of what I may do.

I do not want to discredit myself by releasing all the possible savagry and hate I have stored up for the people I hate.

Here's a little trick I find useful, if I really can't stop myself venting whatever ill-feeling I might have stored up.

1. Hit reply and express all my frustrations in a ranting tirade;

2. Preview the post, ostensibly to proofread the text but really to review everything I've just written;

3. Delete it.

That's all there is to it. I admit it's something I've only come to in recent months and further admit that I use it rather inconsistently, but hey give it a go.

Nope. You dont sound like an ass.

When it comes to certain things, like childabuse or other I simply find it harder to ignore people and am greatfull for ever "institutional method" that helps me ignore such people.

Some people simply have limits to their self control.

I've only blocked one person as I can recall, and that was Ronedee. His exclamations got to me to the point that I couldn't stop from wanting to cyber punch him. So I blocked him. But then.. I started missing out on his ridiculousness to the point that I unblocked him after awhile and was able to laugh instead of be enraged. I don't know what flipped the switch, but it was quite pleasant after that. And then he left anyways..

Maybe, German, your answer lies in reconciliation Wink Shades
If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!

Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite.

Dead wrong.  The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment.

Quote:Some people deserve hell.

I say again:  No exceptions.  Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it.  As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong.
