They control the actions of DOCTORS.
Doctors who perform abortions... for females. There seems to be half of a population who may want such a doctor. In other words, no legal action of a woman, or female-bodied person, can lead to them receiving an abortion because it is forbidden. They are the ones that go to their doctor, the doctors don't just go around handing out abortions. Patients seek them out, these patients seem to be mostly women for some reason in any case, such restrictions hinder those who are looking for the procedure.

Right. Because women can always resort to using a coat hanger.
Doctors should be banned from doing THAT as well.
Coat hanger, scalpel....

If doctors weren't allowed to perform abortions, you'd still have women attempting to end pregnancies with coat hangers.
*edit* Oh I see our resident Christian thinks that doctors are going to perform the deed and not women themselves... No doctor anywhere is forcing women to have abortions. No doctor anywhere would perform an abortion if women weren't coming to them to terminate their pregnancies. I swear sometimes the "pro-life" crowd makes it sound like teams of doctors are driving around in black vans and kidnapping pregnant women at gunpoint and performing abortions on them.
Christian apologetics is the art of rolling a dog turd in sugar and selling it as a donut.

Elected (and unelected) governments in thousands of different jurisdictions around the world ROUTINELY pass laws restricting what people do with their body parts.
I think it's good that doctors are prevented from removing and disposing of the bodies of unborn human beings simply because someone walks in off the street and offers them money to do that.
If your abortion on-demand argument is about personal autonomy you MUST equally support the right of a person to have their $100,000 healthy kidney removed - their body, their choice.

Why would I give a shit if someone wants to remove a healthy kidney? Hell, the doctor could even save it for a transplant.

Or have with some fava beans and a nice chianti.
