I am not debating you the atheists are all apes.
"If men descended from the apes at an unknown period of time, that is as comprehensible as that they were made from a handful of earth at a certain period of time (in the first case the unknown quantity is the time, in the second case it is the origin); and the question of how man's consciousness of freedom is to be reconciled with the law of necessity to which he is subject cannot be solved by comparative physiology and zoology, for in a frog, a rabbit, or an ape, we can observe only the muscular nervous activity, but in man we observe consciousness as well as the muscular and nervous activity.
The naturalists and their followers, thinking they can solve this question, are like plasterers set to plaster one side of the walls of a church who, availing themselves of the absence of the chief superintendent of the work, should in an access of zeal plaster over the windows, icons, woodwork, and still unbuttressed walls, and should be delighted that from their point of view as plasterers, everything is now so smooth and regular."

Really Dos? Tolstoy?
Do you believe that consciousness is something other than neural activity then? Only when we stop that neural activity consciousness tends to stop as well

Since we're quoting Russian literary figures, what about this classic quote from Chekov:
"Can you direct me to the nuclear wessels?"
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

"I am afraid of those who will look for tendenciousness between the lines and who are determined to see me either as a liberal or a conservative. I am neither a liberal nor a conservative, neither a gradualist nor a monk nor an indifferentist. I would like to be nothing more than a free artist, and I regret that God did not give me the gift to be one. I hate falseness and coercion in all their forms . . . . Pharisaism, stupidity and arbitrariness reign not merely in merchants' houses and police stations: I see them in science, in literature, among the young. That is why I have no particular passion for either policemen or butchers or scientists or writers or the young. I consider brand-names and labels a prejudice. My holy of holies is the human body, health, intelligence, talent, inspiration, love, and absolute freedom, freedom from force and falseness in whatever form they express themselves. That's the platform I'd subscribe to if I were a great artist."

So, essentially, upon being presented actual, verifiable and replicable scientific data, furnished by decades of trained, educated specialists, your reaction is to ignore it all, decide that somehow you know more about biology than all the experts in biology, and to cover for your astonishing display of arrogance and dishonesty, you quote a dead Russian novelist, as though that carries any weight.
So effectively, you've lied several times. You lied when you intimated there was no proof, you lied when you presented yourself as interested in what proof we could provide, and now you're prepared to lie about the proof you have been furnished with, now that your only possible other pathway would be to backtrack. People like you drive me completely batshit insane.

[Snipped for brevity - Stimbo]
I don't recall him ever saying that, and I've seen every episode including the Filmation ones. That, plus the absence of a "Keptain" here and there leads me to suspect a forgery.

So the experts in biology and educated and very trained specislists proved on paper that the man descended from an ape? Would it be not hard for you ape to put in a few sentences how is it to be considered a valid proof?

Oh look, casual misogyny too. Well, aren't you just the bees motherfucking knees.
Quote: So the experts in biology and educated and very trained specislists proved on paper that the man descended from an ape? Would it be not hard for you ape to put in a few sentences how is it to be considered a valid proof?
First of all, I'd point out that even if I did, you've already proved that you'll just ignore it the moment it conflicts with your views. So why would I bother indulging your dishonest doublethink?
But, as it happens, you seem to say "proved on paper" as if all I can give you is written material. Well, aside from just saying that the writings of experts sure counts for more than your uninformed layman's opinion, I'd also remind everyone that I posted a link to the talkorigins archive, and so what DOS has just demonstrated is that he didn't even look at the evidence before he decided it wasn't true. If he had looked, he would have seen the fossils, the transitional forms between modern humans and our ancestors, the genetic evidence that he could go and do himself if he wanted... because science is repeatable and demonstrable. It's not just "what's written on paper," no matter how DOS wants to lie about it.
Finally, I'd like to point out how totally fascinated I am that a person who has done little more than quote literature in his posting history here, would so devalue the intellectual content of the written word the moment it disagrees with his opinions.

That does not count for a valid proof. Dinasaur skeleton is proof but where is the proof of yours that the man descended from the ape?

Oh, a dinosaur skeleton would count as proof for you? So then, all the skeletons in the fossil record of man's apelike ancestors would also count, wouldn't it? The ones in the evidence that I linked you to earlier, that you ignored? Just like I predicted you would continue to do?
Or hell, the genetic similarities between humanity and ape, that conclusively prove that?
Or maybe the fact that you don't get to determine what valid proof is, in order to dishonestly exclude everything you dislike? Maybe that helps?
