I grew up for a while about 15 minutes away from one of the most beautiful natural lakes in the world - Hanging Lake in Colorado.
It takes several hours to hike the mile up through a narrow winding canyon, but if you ever get a chance to go ... GO. I have NEVER seen anything more beautiful in all my life and many people have been known to tear up when they reach the top. You just have to experience it for yourself, as no picture could ever do the grandioseness of it justice. The water is even clearer than it looks in the pictures. It's amazing. That tree laying across the water is still there and has been there since before I was a grade-schooler. And one from where I spent my formative years....
I love big ol' industrial boats. That could be a thread of its own.
