Banks Make Money the Old Fashioned Way....
They steal it.

Quote:The big banks have compiled an amazing record of dishonest, and outright criminal, behavior — suggesting that there is no ethical or legal standard that can stand in the way of a chance to fatten the bottom line. Here are some samples, all drawn from the cases settled in the 2000s:

Of course, they practice usury, don't they?
Usury=theft in my mind.

Banks are criminal. Usury is criminal. The use of fractional banking is criminal. When you get a loan, the bank just poofs the money into existence, it is using a fraction of other peoples deposits to loan you money. You buy a 200k dollars house and you end up paying the bank like 400K over the course of 30 years, they have 200K profit for doing nothing, along with the fact that if you stop paying they then own your house (for the price of nothing) then resell the house again at interest, along with keeping all your payments and down payments. The biggest money scam, besides the creation of money, in the world.

Well, true, but I think that its not just the banks. The people themselves are greedy, they get paid interest by the banks they deposit their money into.
Without deposits, they wouldn't be able to loan out anything.

The fractional reserve system was a system created in order to avoid things like the great depression, but now, it has gone on to produce more evils than good.

The FRB was created before the great depression so it actually had a hand in creating it. Being a private corporation and all that loans money to our government at interest, where as the government should be creating it's own money interest free.

People are greedy yes, but that is a manufactured culture to make us greedy, when everything revolves around money it is hard to not want to accumulate it. Control of the media and news helps to exacerbate this greed.

The amount of interest people make is nothing compared to the banks, and at the same time all our income and profits are taxed to pay for the interest payments of the FR and other government functions.

Banks do serve a function in modern society but not they way they are ran today.

Well, I think the gold standard was in effect until the great depression hit the scene.
As gold is rather limited, the amount of liquidity in the economy is limited aswell.
To be honest, FRB actually allowed America to be economic superpower that it is today.

Sadly. We do not live in a world of higher ideas, and noble goals anymore. People are too preoccupied with themselves, as not to care about society, or social justice.
The more they can benefit from a corrupt system, the better.

We are also 14 trillion and counting in debt, it is an illusion. Hard work and intelligent people allowed America to become what it is.
Money is a social ideal in a way, if money was "eliminated" people would still be doing what they are doing, people do things, money is a piece of paper. It can "motivate" people but it is not the reason for the greatness of a country. "Money" should be backed by labor, mental and physical, the labor of the people, to produce the goods/services the nation needs.

Gold standard was in a way yes, all gold was confiscated in 1933, then the silver was instituted and that was phased out as well, to a strictly fiat currency.

But we could strive to create a better world, with proper education and the harsh punishment of the corrupt. We are all one, we are not "individuals" in a sense, everything we do has an effect on all of mankind, people need to think that way, the modern world instills a sense of selfishness. The human race would not be where it is at today if we all acted selfish. We should work together for the better of all, and sacrifice for what is good and moral.

Well, since the value of the money is based on debt, how can you expect anything else? Besides, I think that the reason that the money supply in the US is being inflated is not due to increased need due to increased goods and services, but due to an increased need to serve corporate needs abroad.
At least the needs of American and international corporations.
The labor of the people do not matter anymore. You can use the Chinese, or cheap illegal immigrants to fill that line.

Well, they don't my friend, and I think that humans are becoming less and less conscious of themselves and their relation to the world and their peers. They become more isolated, they think along the lines of "today" instead of looking at the past, and aspiring for the future.
I think that we're becoming more and more feral, less civilized, as the time goes on.
I tell you what we need more in this world. We need more radicals, more madman, more extremists, more idealists, more romanticists, and more people that have set for themelves a higher purpose than what goes beyond their lifetimes.
