Ah fek no!
What am I not to believe in now?
The promises of politicans?
The assurances of sales persons?
Yes dear I love you too?

About 70% of Earth is covered by water, many human habitats are deadly without proper protection, disease, other animals that can harm us, hell, we're not even safe in our own bodies! Fine tuning my ass! Add time into the equation and of the 4.5 billion years that the planet has existed it is only in the last 300 million years that there has been enough oxygen on the planet to support us. Of course if we were to look at the whole universe its more like 1 * 10^-20% of the thing - probably rather less.

You know you're in for a massive disappointment when someone states "atheism destroyed with . . . " .
At first you expect something deep and profound and then get nothing but oft-repeated nonsense. I'll keep looking for the profound in such questions, but I doubt I'll ever get anything but disappointment . . . Playing Cluedo with my mum while I was at Uni: "You did WHAT? With WHO? WHERE???" A universe in which life can exist naturally is the only kind of universe where an omnipotent being needs to be brought in to explain the existence of life. An omnipotent being could have us living anywhere it wanted and our ability to survive would be a profound mystery. Instead, we live only in places conducive to life. If God, even the weak anthropic principle no longer applies. (February 1, 2014 at 7:06 am)dsian Wrote: <snip!> So, do you still think this is a question that's hard for atheists to answer? They usually aim at everything, except giving concrete evidence for their god. Talk about a near-sighted kamikaze pilot.

When I see a thread title making promises like that, it creates in me certain expectations that have yet to be disappointed. (February 1, 2014 at 7:06 am)dsian Wrote: <snip!> |
