lol Not boring. Have you ever been to a wine tasting event? Those are fun. So many different and delicious wines that I have no clue exist, otherwise.

I would recommend a pinot blanc from Alsace to begin with. Ok Alsace isn't really German anymore, but the wine is clearly more German-ish than French to my palate.

I'm seriously going to look for this tomorrow. I'm excited to try something new! Smile
Thanks!

Question, I looked this up and it's noted for having a "creamy" taste? I love "buttery" wines. Would you say that is the texture?

I see what you mean. It is mostly unusually aromatic and can have a subtle smokey taste. It kinda fills the mouth. The aroma is difficult to describe, but it is special to Alsace wines. I know what you mean by buttery, but its not especially distintive in this department, even if a buttery taste can be detected in some brands. I suggested this because even relatively cheap pinot blancs from Alsace are usually very good.

Let's See: I am a beer nut. I judge a brewery by its IPA. My faves: Two Hearted Ale, Dogfish Head 90 minute IPA, Green Flash's Palate Wrecker.

Cocktails: I love a tanqueray and tonic. Or an old fashioned made with a good bourbon.

For sipping: Two fingers of scotch. I am partial to The Balvenie DoubleWood right now.

ETA - I forgot wine! I am a syrah fan. I like the complexity of a big wine like a syrah. My fave is Mollydooker The Boxer.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

I can't drink alcohol anymore since every time I do I seem to drink myself into the hospital :\ Too bad because I used to really enjoy beer and wine. Now I'm sticking to Lean and Promethazine. It's similar to the effects of drinking without the cloudy head feeling, and it's not nearly as addictive as drinking...for me at least. I've always preferred opiates to any other buzz. All legally acquired too Smile

You can see my partners Radha-Krishna statue in the back lol...I wake up every morning to ringing bells and drums. It's terrible once the novelty wears off Tongue lol
