The United States has a population of 315 million; a single tragic accident does little to help your case. A thousand tragic accidents wouldn't.

There is no actual 'loophole', y'know. 'Gun show loophole' is just another scare phrase like 'assault weapon'. It is intended to demonize them.

The alleged loophole refers to the fact that private sales of firearms do not require a background check. Licensed firearms dealers are required to do the federal background check even at gun shows.

It doesn't really have anything to do with gun shows.

Police say a 10-year-old girl has been fatally shot in the head at her Pennsylvania home.

Washington County Coroner Tim Warco identified the girl as Taniyah Thomas and said she was shot just before 4 a.m. Monday at her home in Washington in western Pennsylvania.

Authorities haven't released any details about the circumstances of the shooting.
