What happened to Matthew's zombies?

What we do know for sure (taken from reading below/the text): Tombs were opened by an earthquake when Jesus died. Many bodies of dead saints were raised from the dead. They came out of their graves after Christ was resurrected. They went into Jerusalem and appeared to many people. They were alive.

To speculate, they could have been taken up to heaven soon after, or they finished out their lives and died and are awaiting the final resurrection (like Lazarus).

More Detail:

Do you have ANY proof this happened - by mention OUTSIDE of the bible?

The bible clearly states things that are NOT TRUE. Once you accept that the bible is NOT always true - the actual truth of any passage rests upon the proof OUTSIDE of the bible.

Example - the bible gives at least TWO different BLOODLINES of the christ

Bloodlines in that era ONLY went through men (Who supplied the seed - the entire basis for the child - women only were carriers)

Both bloodlines say that the christ's blood father was Joseph.
The religion claims the christ had NO human blood father

So - both of these statements are false as far as xtianity is concerned
IT is clear from the bible text - that Joseph had NO marital relations with Mary until after the christ was supposedly born - so he could NOT had been the blood father anyway.

I expect that YOU would not accept a long list of Koran quotes to prove a muslim point - why do YOU list a bunch of bible quotes that are equally noit proven?

To Thom- I do not recall the word "Bloodline" in the bible.
In the book of Matthew the first chapter lists the forefathers of Joseph, not Jesus. Perhaps you could read it.

To the OP, the reason there is little discussed about those raised from the dead when Jesus rose is that we are not told what happened next.
Since Jesus is the firstborn from the dead, there must be a second, third and so on, afterward.
It only says they were seen, if they were resurrected to live normal lives afterward- it would have been phrased differently.
My take is they left, and that all the righteous from Adam left also.

I am highly looking forward to the next Departure.

Yeah, they were seen, and everyone who saw them forgot to write it down because they were in shock. A HUGE event like that, and nothing else is heard about it. Strange. Thinking

Actually - the lineage as described in the bible was an attempt to make it seem that the christ fullfilled the prophecy that he was of the line of David - and since lineage at that time was the Male bloodline - the actual word bloodline does not need to be there to be implied. I take note - in your statement that you include "My take" for things that are not specifically mentioned in the bible as well.

Having said that - the problem is that there is NO reason to believe the christ actually lived - to have risen from the dead. THERE remains not a single mention of him or his "parents" in the historical record of his supposed time - so claiming that OTHERS were brought back from the dead - when there is NO mention of that in other writings is just as comical.

And - the story of Adam is a fairy tale - based on what we know is the origin of humans a hundred thousand years before the claimed time of the bible.

I wonder why, surely God knew intelligent people would have skeptical questions.

Woah now, Gravelord Nito was the first of the dead. Get your facts about fiction straight.

Everyone thank the biblical expert for telling us how it would have been.

Apparently, so were these guys.

From this outsider's view, the primary difference between that apocalyptic death cult and your apocalyptic death cult is this:

Patience.

RE: What happened to Matthew's zombies?
What I was referring to has nothing to do with death or any death cult.

Enoch walked with God before the flood, he took a step one day and he was gone- translated.
He believed to not see death.

In the time of the O.T. (prophets), Elijah was caught up- translated.
He also, cheated the undertaker.

In our time, (what we call the Church age), there is a group who, similarly will not see death.
THAT is what I am referring to.

Each age had one translation experience.
Three ages- three translations. Two down - one to go.

Every year, the Jews set a plate for Elijah at Passover for when he returns.
