I just read another book in Patricia Cornwell's Scarpetta series.
The Scarpetta Factor Then I am continuing the series with a couple more books. Port Mortuary Red Mist Then I will most likely be finishing off the series with the last two books. The Bone Bed Dust

My mom just got me this really cool book for free from the library!
Sorry, meat eating world killers, it's a vegetarian book that you should read anyway... It's called Veggie Cure. It's like, "Have a problem related to eating? Here's what you can eat to help with that!" Then it's like, "Here are some recipes tagged nice and easy so you know how to be helping yourself the most all at once!" I found out, the whole time I was depressed, I was eating what I should be eating... potatoes and spinach, both mood boosters and stress reducers... Now I really want to try out their sweet potato recipe, but it's marked "energy" for giving you an energy boost, so um, I'll have to hold off on that
"An Empty Land of Plenty" by Mark McNamara
I'm right in the middle of it, so I hope it has a good ending.
Leaving the Saints by Martha Beck.
Holy shit. If half the stuff in this book is true, the Mormons are even more fucked up than I realized.
Teenaged X-Files obsession + Bermuda Triangle episode + Self-led school research project = Atheist.

Just finished three histories of jazz.
These are what I checked out this week: - American Prometheus: The triumph and tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer - The Ministry of Guidance Invites You Not to Stay: an American family in Iran - Patton: a genius for war - War As I Knew It (Patton's memoirs) (April 2, 2014 at 7:02 pm)Clueless Morgan Wrote: Leaving the Saints by Martha Beck. I've read this; two comments: 1. She comes across as factual and even handed. 2. My Mormon brother hates her. His exact words were "The misguided sister isn't necessarily wrong, but she should have been more responsible with her personal confusion and not publish something that isn't faith promoting". He admitted not reading the book, but said his ward bishop's interpretation was the basis for his opinion. He hung up when I asked if the bishop read it.
I have decided to read Michael Grant's Gone series.

Brokenquill, I'm trying to read what you sent me, but I have a really short attention span so... I'll have to break it down into 300-word chunks and edit them and comment on them one chunk at a time.
