RE: Okay, I guess I'm guilty. Who else here thinks two spacing is correct?

Typing class in the 70s and the instructor stressed 2 spaces. I ido note the texting features on my cell phone 'prefer' one space.
First I ever heard of going one space would have been the early 80s in an otherwise obscure publication called PPC Journal, IIRC.

I think if you don't like my spacing, grammar, spelling, diction, and puncturation, it is your fault.

I've actually had professors request double-spaced papers, then try to accuse me of "extending a shorter paper" by spacing twice between words, because I misunderstood the instructions.
They meant between lines.
Apparently nobody knows what it means.

I use a triple space. But then I back space once.

I once handed in a one page paper, printed single sided on 8.5"x11 paper, triple space, 18 point font, 2 inch margins all around. I got a decent grade because the professor thought it was succinct and ballsy.
I have to say the content of my paper wasn't less than many others with 40 double sided pages, 10 point font, 1 inch margins.

I once turned in a paper which had a strict 5 page limit on which I numbered the sixth page 5.5. He appreciated the humor since he liked the paper and there really wasn't much I could've done to shorten the paper without significant loss.

Oh sure, blame the victim.
I taught myself how to type, and I just use one space. I have no opinion regarding which is superior, other than I'd rather not press one more key than I have to.

I had never even heard of people using single spaces until I opened this thread.
And I never even noticed that the forum auto-formats to one space.
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell

When you quote a post, you can see how many spaces they use.
