Possibly an Atheist's Thought?
May 11, 2014 at 1:35 am
Any omniscient God who would damn his children to eternal torture for using the rational minds they were created with, knowing they would question everything, is not worthy of worship.
If there is a God, and you honestly believe he only saves those who blindly believe, and damns those who don't blind themselves, I honestly feel sorry for you.
The only true expression of faith comes from a willingness to question everything, and decide if it's rational to still believe.
If you have irrational beliefs, you don't have faith.

What if there is a god? What does that mean anyway? Why would that change a thing for me? I would still be dead. It changes nothing. I don't understand your concerns, my man.

Even if you feel you are 99.99% sure there is no God, are you willing to risk your eternal destiny if that .01% chance it may be true?

Now, Rev, take this name change and copy/paste it a few thousand times and input the names of every god that has ever been posited by man to exist. Do you see why we laugh at this feeble attempt now?

Thinking about it. Its like atheists get an extra day off a week because we don't waste Sundays on useless fawning to an impossible magic man.
Score.

You could but that would be super creepy stalker behavior and he'd probably call the police.

Where did the time go, the years, the decades? This world can be so disappointing and difficult, then when that fateful day comes, that's it. I mean, that's the end, no more me, gone forever. Into the ground I go, no more life, just a memory. In a couple of generations I probably won't even be remembered. Its kinda sad.

Your god must have some serious self esteem issues if he so desperately craves our constant worship.

Rev might be repetitive and not too good at getting his point across, but I think I kinda like reading his wonky logic. It's a little entertaining. Now don't go getting yourself perma banned, and don't go having a heart attack worrying about the fate of Atheists while you're gone, Rev!

I hope while you're on mandatory vacation, Rev., you pause to truly reflect on the quality of your arguments. I assume that you've been bringing your "A" game, and if that consists of Pascal's wager and "no transitional fossils," you should just save your breath. It's the same regurgitated crap we've seen hundreds of times here, and the more unthinking people like yourself puke it up here, the less convincing it gets.
Just relax and enjoy the forums. Apologetics are weak at best, so there's no need to waste your time using their worst arguments. No one has ever been convinced by this tripe, and if you don't try to come back with something much better, that will show that this is more about a self-serving show than actual conversion.

My understanding of it is that Pascal was trolling when he came up with this. He'd most likely have had it published in whatever passed for Private Eye or The Onion in his day. That one-watts find it even the slightest compelling only makes the satire funnier.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'
