However, investigators said, the girl refused to take the pills from Lucas. After the boy woke up and looked for her, he found the bathroom door locked. He was able to force it open with a knife, but then found his sister “submerged in the bathtub.” Despite his calling paramedics, the girl was pronounced dead at the scene.
Of course the pastor merely asks for prayers, and makes a cliche remark over "one more angel in heaven', and unsurprisingly no mention of even a modicum of responsibility laying (lying?) with Christian culture.

For those unfamiliar: Metropolitan Community Church is the denomination started by Rev. Troy Perry for gays, lesbians, transgenders, and questioning individuals.
[Disclaimer: in the last 30 years I have attended more MCC services than any other, probably a total of 3 or 4 times]

Yeah. Then there's the stories of murders committed by people after watching violent movies and hardcore sadistic porn movies or those who committed murder after watching a few chick flicks.

Holy books are weapons and religion is poison. If that family had gotten professional help instead of listening to a preacher, shit like that wouldn't happen. Just like if the Koran had not been written 19 hijackers would not have felt it was their duty to defend Allah.
"Guns don't kill people, people kill people", right, but guns make it much easier.

I don't know why he didn't stop her. Are you saying that if he didn't stop her he shouldn't exist. For God to exist does he have to control our every move? Why can't he let us make decisions for ourselves?
