Why are Christians so ignorant? < I fixed that for you
 Ignorance breeds arrogance. In this case I think it's almost accurate to say that correlation does equal causation. 
It seems to be a trait among creationists and fundamentalists of all types.
What I would have asked to a statement of anyone who isn't a christian is misled/ignorant is, "which version of Christianity?" Playing Cluedo with my mum while I was at Uni: "You did WHAT? With WHO? Their arrogance comes from a very retrograde vicious circle that is designed to autosuggestion yourself. 
Much as I don't want to spoil this "two minutes hate", I think that there is a touch of generalisation going on here. Are there arrogant Christians? Obviously. Are there arrogant atheists? Just as obviously. You found a few dick was and are extrapolating.
All you Americans do that! Generalise the behaviour of a group from a limited sample.

I'm no Christian but I see a lot of arrogance here on this forum, so it goes both ways, its arrogant to believe it doesn't.
Sure, there are arrogant atheists, but we're not the ones with a book that claims to have all the answers, that we're forced to cherry pick and reinterpret as time goes on to keep us from being imprisoned.

Yeah, it pisses me off too. If they weren't always hogging the spotlight, the world would notice how fucking AMAZING I happen to be. Selfish, arrogant little Christians...

In our defense, however, there is a large population of extremely vocal and incredibly arrogant Christians in this country that seek absolute social domination over anyone that isn't rabidly shoving Christ down everyone else's throat. The generalizations come in because we heathens cope by spouting insults towards these idiots, and it gets extremely tiring adding the "I know not all Christians are like this, but I need to emote about this issue" caveat at the end of every rant.
