Fun Times in #atheistforums
May 3, 2010 at 9:48 am
This thread is for collecting quotes from the chat room (#atheistforums on irc.dal.net) that are funny, witty, amusing, or just generally outrageous. They can be things people have said, full conversations (but please edit them down to the good bits), or even games played with DarwinBot.
I'll start us off with something Peps (Rob) said the other day which is humourous, but only to computer geeks.
Quote:<Peps> i might just be the stupidist person on the face of the earth
<Synackaon1> why so?
<Peps> because i have some SDL code which is segfaulting when i try to access some opengl functionality
<Peps> been trying to figure out why for a while
<Peps> and just realised im on a remote ssh connection
Another thing was the server disconnecting me and then logging me back in with the username "Tiberius_" (with the additional underscore at the end). I was still an op on the server, so I decided to kick the other me (Tiberius) from the room, forgetting that I wrote a script into DarwinBot which...well...you'll see:
Quote:You kicked Tiberius from the chat room. (Tiberius_)
<DarwinBot> I SHALL AVENGE YOU MASTER! CHAAAAARRRRGE!!!
You were kicked from the chat room by DarwinBot. (BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!)
You rejoined the room.
You were promoted to operator by ChanServ.
<Saerules> Very nice
<Peps> well done man
<Saerules> +1 for that
<Darwinian> Isn't that some sort of paradox?
<Tiberius_> I forgot about that
I'm sure there have been may others, so share them all!

Quote:<Eilonnwy>: I had to hold a child this weekend
<Eilonnwy>: it was a strangers child too
<Darwinian>: Was it small and squishy?
<Saerules>: Was it delicious?
<Eilonnwy>: kinda

Nothing exciting happens there. It is all lies!
Except for the SDL/GL one - made me crack a smile.

Babies taste great with Marmite. I should know. I'm an atheist (who also happens to love Marmite).
EDIT: I just realized that there was no baby mentioned, only "child".
You win this round Chatroom Quotations...

That I do... i didn't even have to try

I actually do not agree. Although I doubt I like 'Marmite'... few things make babies taste good. One of them is copious amounts sauce... to the point that one recognizes it isn't the baby that tastes good: it's the sauce.
One thing, however, is certain:
Ely kinda liked it

Proof of the existence of god:
It's at least as good as the various proofs theists often come here spouting.

Really?
You must be appalling cook or just don't understand how to butcher and dress them.
Tip:you treat them just as you would a suckling pig. (any atheist butcher will prepare them for you)
My favourite is spare ribs ,marinated in the fridge for two days covered with a mixture of equal quantities of soy sauce and red wine, with three crushed cloves of garlic, then quickly grilled and served with fresh white bread, real butter and a good red. A sweet chili glaze is also great for a roast.
We don't have Marmite. We have Vegemite, which is a by product of beer making.(really) It's made from a stinky brown sludge which is essentially left over yeast. They cart it away to the Vegemite factory only at night,in huge tankers. Well meaning mothers feed Vegemite to their infants on rusks, resulting in a life long addiction.

Mmmm... at least you saved the dessert Maybe I can have some next time I go into the chat? ^_^

You must be appalling cook or just don't understand how to butcher and dress them. Butchering them is easy enough... it's dressing them that's the problem. I believe my problem with dressing them comes from my difficulty dressing myself. How truly difficult it is to remember that the shirt goes on the left leg (or was it the right arm...?), the panties go on the head (but does one shift the majority to the left or right...?), and that the socks are for the arms. I mean: It's totally counter-intuitive!

<-- Doesn't care for pig, save on rare (RARE) cravings.
I think I see my 'problem' with eating babies now...

You're clearly a person with more refined tastes than myself My recipe is always the same: heat it up, and add lots of Ragu.
