Because, see, generally how these stories go is that the high and mighty protagonist, after being brought low to experience life on the other side, learns a lesson and seeks to change things once they return to power. Jesus ascends and gets to be god again, and does absolutely nothing at all.

I'll just say this - the day will eventually come when John Lennon's great song "Imagine" will become a reality - from the second stanza on.
If you aren't as old as I am, then you will have to look that song up.

Jesus was a Jew

did Jesus fully experience life as a Middle Easterner 2000 years ago?
like, was he subject to food poisoning? contaminated water? lice? intestinal parasites? bug bites? prickliness of nettles? did spicy food 'burn' ? Did He have BO ? Could a splinter or thorn pierce his heel? Tooth decay? Eye crud in the morning? Grinding his teeth while He slept ? Leg cramps ?
Seriously. If he was impervious to all of that, did He really 'share' in the ancient time ambience? If He wasn't susceptible to, let's say BO, and everyone else was (why wouldn't they be?) it seems odd it wasn't remarked upon in Scripture. Considering the scourging and crucifixion, do you really need to ask if a thorn could pierce his heel?
To my knowledge there are different schools of thought on this subject, but IMO yes, he was subject to the typical human frailties.

I was thinking Jesus would have 'consented' to experience the crucifixion as everyone else did.
How can you kill a God without the God's consent ??
If Jesus was trekking to Mt. Pisgah to make an important pronouncement on Salvation, He would not permit some E coli to lay Him low, nor could an adder bite His heel and make Him late.
Scripture does not record any crowds anywhere milling about idly waiting for a tardy Jesus, so He must have utilized his (convenient) God powers to make the date.

I agree with that (or rather that the Father wouldn't permit it), but that's not what you were saying in OP. God overrides certain impediments for regular people as well. If E coli would hinder God's plan for any of us, we don't get E coli.

Perhaps He consented once to various maladies, such as a vacationer to Paris would visit the Eiffel Tower one, day, and the Louvre the next, but not visit the Eiffel every day of a 2 week vacation, for instance.
So once Jesus had puked his guts out for a few days from salmonella, just to see what every one else experienced monthly, His curiosity satisfied, He would no longer consent to that particular malady. Still, Jesus would have been experienced quite a bit of illness, the area was innocent of any concept of sanitation. Jesus undoubtedly ate fecal contamination on His food, he drank various impurities including urine, saliva, animal sourced contaminants, etc.
Question; does transubstantiation work continuously for Jesus? Does all food and drink that touches His lips immediately change in to His flesh and blood, so that Jesus does not eat (unless He wants to) contamination, rather, would Jesus almost always be eating Himself ?

Ever notice how mythological characters never get a virus, or a backache, or stub their toe, or hit their hand with a hammer, or fail to get it up, or have body odor, or take a shit?
It's almost as if they aren't REAL. Any of them.

Yeah, a bit of topic drift has occurred, a common malady here . . .
