Well, that's a bit of an exaggeration..maybe just 4 years of "darkness"?

Why do the press talk to celebs about politics? I don't ask David Beckham his opinion on Greece potentially leaving the Euro or defaulting on their loans.
Why do they think people give two tosses what mentally negligable people like Chuck Norris say? They generally do not.
If I wan't an opinion on politics, i'd rather hear from an asshole like Karl Rove or someone who works for a political think tank, or an academic. You know, the people who work in the politics industry.

Yeah but saying 1000 years of darkness is more dramatic. It kind of rolls off the tongue. It also vaguely reminds a person of Nazi political beliefs.

Also, why do Americans go to such extremes when talking? 1000 years? Bullshit. Maybe 20 years tops. Why the drama? Do they really think it makes their argument more likely? Fuck no, the reverse if anything.

This never fails to piss me off. I'm more of a socialist than Obama. His term has been frustrating for me to watch because he's simply too moderate. Somedays I feel like I should walk around with a big sign that says, "This is what a socialist looks like" just to see what would happen. I could go down to the capital building... But I'd probably be arrested and I have to pick up the kids at 3.
