No they don't.
I've sadly seen it too many times....a Christian nut tried to do the same to me once, but only once.

Most people need something to cling to, be that religion or whatever, even an atheist can cling to their beliefs or lack of beliefs.

I do find there are atheists who do just that....that their lack of belief is somehow an identity. That's why I'm starting to like humanists more as I see them as emphasizing the value of their humanity over their lack of beliefs; then again, humanists can also be theists so maybe that's the reason why.

Why are you so concerned about what beliefs atheists lack?
Of course, in any society, a lack of conformity to age-old traditions is bound to create some sense of an individual and/or minority identity.

This is an atheist forum with a religious section. Don't other religious forums have an atheist section?

Not at all. I come here because I was dismayed at how many atheists would stand by "facts" not backed up by academic research.
It's really got nothing to do with religion as you can see I rarely talk about religion like the other theists who post here.
I think the only issue you should have with me is A. I have a label as a Christian (not my intention to use it as a counter-move against gullible atheists, which it has become more often than not....just wanted to be honest I was a Christian) and don't like to put up with atheists being as illogical as the theists they put down. It looks negatively when it ends up being used as a stereotype against atheists.
Basically, I'm self-centered and care about what atheists do to ruin the image of academia. If the Christians around me actually made Christianity look bad, I would do the exact same thing to them. I don't tend to see the Fundies use the internet and the majority don't live within 2,000 km of me.

Buy you have no trouble accepting all the bible facts.
For someone that prefers academic research, doesn't that make your stance an oxymoron?

The method in which I accept Biblical facts also messes with atheists since they assume that a theist doesn't have the academic background to have their own opinions of what the Biblical events portray.
It really hurts the atheists when they come to me woefully unprepared, assuming I will just have the same answers that fit their idea of a stereotypical Christian
I have really pissed off some atheists for giving secular answers to them....it turned out they knew very little about what they were talking about and convinced me how destructive their ignorance could be and it turned out many atheists held the same disgust for those atheists pretending to be what they obviously were not.

Polaris, I can appreciate your attempt to challenge us, and by all means. But if anyone is contributing to the "ruin" of "the image of academia," it's your hoc and vulgar personal attacks; true, you're on the receiving end of it a lot (especially from Min) but you're not in any way trying to elevate the discussion. So let's maybe try and do that if your motives are as pure as you claim.
