RE: Should man rule over women for women’s own good?

Quote:If we wish to be as free as we can be, then we automatically un-free ourselves in that we take on the responsibility to insure that all share that same level of freedom.
There's a quote I remember - "you cannot force freedom on others, you can only give them the option".
Are we able to be free, like lead ourselves to whatever future. To think, act and live out our lives as we please. I think we are able. Freedom often depends on others though. Such as the country and it's government. Some countries allow you all sorts of freedoms, others control their population so tightly, that they can't even speak their minds.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence - Carl Sagan
Mankind's intelligence walks hand in hand with it's stupidity.
Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist.
You never really know just how stupid someone is, until you've argued with them.

We have no real argument.
I agree that freedom cannot be given unless it is somehow being withheld.
Freedom can only be taken.

Unless one wants to live alone in the wild, I would say that that our freedom always deprnds on others.

What a fragrantly misogynist statement.

It's OK, you can still be morally indignant about my wit if you want.

You have to have at least one whole discrete quanta of wit for him to be indignant at it.

Those who want to be housewives, should be allowed to do so as well. Men who want to be househusbands likewise should be given the right, which is why I am supportive of the Western European governments.
I despise the Democratic women who trash other women just because they want to stick with traditional values.
Meh forgive the necro post. This thread showed up on a list of suggested threads. I just had to quote this because it makes me happy that Polaris has said something that I think is nice and I completely agree with.
I'm not sure I get the submarine thing, but I don't know anything about submarines.

Yeah, the bible says that.
The bible states all sorts of bullshit.
Men and women are both humans and should have equal rights.
That should be obvious to any decent human.

The bible says women shouldn't be on submarines? Or are you not responding to me?

Oh, a necropost?
No, I saw this on my list and should have quoted the original post.
