Jobs are at stake- their own.

Yeah, 'cause nobody wants to earn a Nobel by proving an established theory wrong and supplying the new model.

Do you even understand how stupid your little pet conspiracy theories sound to anyone with the ability to think rationally?

ANYTHING else is postulating / guessing / theory.

Your use of the word theory simply exposes your ignorance about how scientific theories work.

Prof, it's far better to allow the world to think you're an idiot than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.

A scientific theory is an explanation that uses the facts at hand. What people like you don't seem to understand is that this makes it an open discussion, by allowing other scientists to put forward their own theories or to test the existing theories. In this manner those theories are either discarded or strengthened. Unlike claims for god, there are no hidden or magic formulas that can be used to keep a theory afloat. If you can disprove the theory of evolution --either by showing where it is invalid or providing a better theory that stands up to the same scientific rigor-- then it gets discarded.

If your approach is to claim that there's some vast conspiracy to discredit creationism, then what you are doing is presenting a theory. If you're going to dismiss the validity of using theories to explain facts, then you've really got nothing to present aside from unverifiable claims, by definition. Consensus does not refer to the way that your reflection in the mirror nods in agreement whenever you do.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

Seeing as this has been the definition of scientific theory for years now, it seems like you just have another inconvenience.

The ones who get their "degrees" from jesus freak diploma mills. May as well get them out of a cereal box.

I love this line.

Quote:Patriot Bible University (as of October 2008) is accredited by the Accrediting Commission International. This accreditation is quality non-governmental Christian accreditation, that recognizes high standards of Biblical and academic training.

For those who worship the motherfucker, "Dr." Rand Paul pulled a similar scam by forming his own outfit to certify himself.

http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/201...ich-board/

Quote:Republican Senate candidate for Kentucky, and Tea Party darling, Rand Paul ris an ophthalmologist. But is he a "board certified" opthamologist?

The American Board of Ophthalmology says no, Paul is not registered with that organization.

But Paul says his board certification comes instead from The National Board of Ophthalmology, the Courier Journal reported this week that Paul said his certification comes from the National Board of Ophthalmology – not the larger American Board, or ABO.

The NBO filed as a non-profit corporation in 1999 with the State of Kentucky, listing Rand Paul as both the president and director. The NBO’s own articles of incorporation do not explain its certification procedure.

How quaint.

Can't get the degree you want? Just make your own university to graduate from.

Background checks are your friend.
