Incorrect. There is no English comparison to an American biscuit that I know of. Scones are not the same as American biscuits. We have those too we also eat them with cream/butter/jam, and actual American biscuits can also be eaten that way though they're much better all smothered in gravy.

I've already tried this. The problem is with marketing: Losty has feminine wiles on her side and isn't afraid to use them to get people to agree with her Angel

In the spirit of inclusivity upon which this derail was founded, I suggest that we agree:

1. we all know what biscuits/cookies/scones are, in our own particular frames of reference
2. they're delicious, however we prefer to dress them
3. variety is the spice of life
4. there's no correlation between religiosity and propensity-to-use-confectionary-labels.

I did not use feminine wiles. I lured him in with ice cream sandwiched between two cookies :p

*ETA technically Luckie lured him in with the ice cream sandwich. Mmm yummy yummy delicious...Luckie.

Losty, Ily, but this[Image: 231630-biscuits-0.jpg] is a scone with sauce on it.

It seems you're right. I can't compete with Losty's wiles. Not by a long shot.

Dodgy

I give you cookies. Real cookies. We leave the biscuits (both kinds) and scones out of it. And humor is spelled humor. I think it's a fair compromise.

I can deal with that, as long as you spell all other words correctly; http://www.tysto.com/uk-us-spelling-list.html according to the list on the left.
