Many become saved because of the fear of the judgment of God, that's why hell was preached in the NT over 200 times if my memory doesn't fail me. The scriptures say that the "fear of God is the beginning of wisdom". Skeptics like to think that this means that God is some fear mongering, harsh dictator. Completely the opposite, God loves us so much that he came in the flesh and suffered torture so that we might be saved. More than anything He wants a personal relationship with you, not " religion". How? You must believe that you were born in sin and that sin separates you from God. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, God in the flesh made the propitiation for all sin in so much that if you confess Jesus Christ as your savior and believe in your heart that God hath raised him from the dead, you shall be saved. Repent, turn away from sin and the things of this world. Confess Christ and resist sin while filling the temple of your soul with holiness, righteousness, and all things of Almighty God.
You're scaring the shit out of me. I'm ready to accept Jesus out of fear. Does that matter? How do I go about this?

But God made the rules, he set the bar and the according punishment, then upon my birth made me a rule breaker without a chance to avoid it, then tells me if I don't agree that he saved me from the unavoidable punishment he set to coincide with the rules he made, he's going to punish me. Then he tells me he loves me. Not directly, mind you. Not by phone or text message. Not even by carrier pigeon. He has decided to leave my fate in the hands of the amount of trust I have in some people I've never met who lived 2,000 years ago and a fan of Rob Zombie on the Internet. Meanwhile, I can't trust a guy I've known for ten years around my girlfriend.
On second thought, I'm all set where I'm at.
I can't remember where this verse is from, I think it got removed from canon:
"I don't hang around with mostly men because I'm gay. It's because men are better than women. Better trained, better equipped...better. Just better! I'm not gay." For context, this is the previous verse: "Hi Jesus" -robvalue (September 22, 2014 at 12:52 pm)professor Wrote: Regarding the rock band, I was so pissed off at their inconsideration (they could not bend one iota to a simple modification to bring a modicum of peace to the neighborhood (which every drummer knows about) that I let them have it. Why will this "god" who loves us not join in on this internet forum? Does he not have a computer that will float on the clouds? (September 23, 2014 at 1:10 am)RobZombi Wrote: How? So your god can forgive you, but only after you or he shed blood by killing something innocent. Secondly this "forgiveness" hinges on "belief," a very strange thing to base forgiveness on. Have you ever demanded from someone that they "believe you exist" as a condition of your forgiveness? As the prime condition? If you had a child that made a mistake and transgressed against your rules, would you have to come up with a grand "kill yourself ploy to forgive them? Would blood and death be a requirement?

Nothing like starting off the day with laughter. I never thought you guys would be so much fun.
A year ago on wondering if there were any atheist forums, I thought- how could there be? What would they have to talk about? And here I am in the midst of so much banter........ Bibli, no I have had no pangs of conscious whatsoever. They earned it. I assume they all got normal jobs and lived happily ever after. Compared to what is coming- my "Word" /prophecy/ declaration, doesn't amount to an amoeba in the Atlantic ocean. By the way, Rob and I have different viewpoints of God's involvement post Rapt. When it says Jesus saved the best wine for last, I consider this a prophecy- an expression of God's standard way of operation. The best and the worst of all generations standing eyeball to eyeball. Both groups exhibiting a fullness. The AC and FP with their minions filled with demonic presence. And real Christians filled with the power of God. There is always a balance. It won't be all Devil. |
