I bet there would be a different outcome in that equation if he had put spirit in there. He was a wealthy man and he gave all he had to help the homeless. They robbed him and left him with nothing. He found some reason that his actions were not altruistic and killed himself. I think he believed that his actions were for his family, his son that left him. It was because of evolution that he proved altruism could not exist. I don't know I think altruism can be accomplished but you have to be HUMAN.
