Dems need to do better and can do better.

RE: Dems need to do better and can do better.
Yes they do prioritize themselves and their families first. However they have a responsibility to the rest of the country, because they are wealthy. Is it Hypocrisy? I don't know. I just know that sending jobs overseas will increase unemployment, and less money will be circulating through our economy. My mom likes to say we should leave the wealthy alone because they create jobs, but those jobs aren't helping us if they're in other countries.

Am I a selfish hypocrite? I don't know, and I don't care all that much. I care about people, but I still care about myself and my loved ones more than I do strangers.

The problem with fiscal "conservatives" is that they are only 'conservative' about money which goes to help poor people.

When it comes to the military-industrial complex the sky is the limit.

Or say..spending state money for a conservative DA to prosecute a kid for humping a jesus statue, for example.

There is plenty of money out there, it's just that the rich have it all. So the answer is punitive taxes on the rich. They can afford it.

If you can say you don't have a responsibility to the rest of the world, why can't they say they don't have a responsibility to the rest of the country? Or why can't they just claim they are honoring their larger responsibility to the world and giving the jobs to the people who want it the most?

I don't fault you for caring about yourself and your loved ones more than other people. Your fault lies in criticizing people for being greedy...when you are greedy. Your fault lies criticizing people for wanting to use the government for personal gain at the expense of others...when you yourself want to use the government for personal gain at the expense of others.

Money doesn't make people better off. Stuff makes people better off. I don't care how many 0s rich people have on their ledgers. I want their stuff. But if you took all the rich people's stuff and divided it up among everyone...you wouldn't notice a difference in your standard of living....they just don't have enough stuff.

How do you actually make people better off? Make more stuff.

I don't have the power and connections that wealth brings to be responsible for other people. I have a responsibility to my parents because they raised me, and a responsibility to friends that I have made agreements with. I don't have the ability to effect the things around me very much, so I don't have much responsibility. If I had the extra money to give to every charity organization that called me, I'd be happy to give it, but I barely make enough to handle my expenses and put a bit in savings.

With great power comes great responsibility, but if your power isn't so great, your responsibility isn't so great. I guess you could say that these companies may have made agreements with other countries, so they're responsible for that, but I'd say it's unwise to make agreements to help the economy of other countries while the economy of your own country is going downhill.

I don't think you realize just how wealthy you are.

Giving what you can, how rich are you

You do have it in your power to support a policy which doesn't screw all the people in the world who are poorer than you.

Wow, it says I'm in the top twenty percent. 19.5%. I live in a trailer and get disability, and I'm in the top 20%?

People who get the jobs "shipped" overseas live worse than you do. You probably have clean water and shit in a toilet. The guy in the other country shits in hole and drinks water that ran off someone elses shithole. If your plight is awful, how can you morally justify wanting to prevent jobs from moving overseas to help these people? Especially with the knowledge that in the past, when a job has moved overseas...another job was created to replace it.

The lefties will tell the new job is crappy and pays less. The truth is standard of living in our country and the country who got "our" job increased. Don't be afraid to share the wealth with the rest of humanity.

Rich people currently have a lot of tax breaks, but all they do is let the money build up in their accounts. Give tax breaks to the poor and the more money they have the more they will spend, they do not have any spare money so what comes in goes out.
So for a healthy economy give the poor more money, they will help circulate it. Rich people are like log jams on the economy just building it up where it does no good.
