It time for another What if... Thread!

RE: It time for another What if... Thread!
I wonder if it's significant that you chose to identify with a man made out of straw.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

no it wouldn't you would be falsely justifying the murder of pegans and not to mention magic doesn't exist. mass hysteria is something else and people very innocent people gotten killed over superstition. anyone with some common sense would be stopping it. but the very delusional people during the time with the witch trails were killing innocent people then people were like hey i can say x person is a witch and get him killed and takes his land....

Come on people, think. "Drich" rhymes with "witch" and he obviously has as big an infatuation for them as he does with all that god crap. Maybe he knows more about witches than he lets on because he is one. I say we tie him in a bag with rocks and throw him in the ocean. If he isn't a witch, god will save him. If he is a witch then he will receive the treatment he himself endorses. (Crazy asshole.)

Who, notably, didn't have a brain. Wink

I say we hit you with a bag of rocks, because if you're not a dangerous psychopath: you soon could be.

Now you've got me worried. One thing for sure, you definitely have intimate knowledge of what dangerous psychopath entails. Might have to cut back on the amount of PCP and roids I'm doing.

Nope - the witch hunts and witch trials were incredibly ineffective at finding and killing real witches - bringing them back would only end in getting a lot of innocent people killed while the actual criminals went scot-free.

Only if you can provide evidence that they were hunting actual witches. Positing the existence of actual evil witches at the time is meaningless without showing contemporary reliable methods of discovering the said witches.

So many problems with this one.

Your argument implicitly allows fro white magic being practiced, so the witches practicing those spells should not be persecuted.

Simply practicing any kind of magic - black or white, angelic or demonic - should not be prosecuted. Not unless it results in actual criminal activity.

Just because constant demon calling can result in disfigurement does not mean that anyone disfigured is a witch. Regarding disfigurement as prima facie evidence for witchcraft is a logical fallacy called affirming the consequent.

Not without a confirmed way to identify.

Nope. Simply being a witch is not a crime in itself.

Play by the rules and stop moving the goalposts. Nothing in your original scenario said anything about demonic possession or its connection to witchcraft.

(October 23, 2014 at 11:43 am)Drich Wrote: I know demon possession was real, what subsequent generations have idenified this possession is really of little consenquence.

God flooded the world to kill corrupt man.. There is a day comming where God will use fire.

That's the thing... There is nothing magic about magic.. Magic is demon manipulation.. To weild magic is to be tied to a demon.. Watch stimbo's scarry movie 'lights out' and tell me you want to be tied to that.

So, I guess the rule about sticking to the original hypothetical scenario is out of the window and now we can introduce any fantasy we want.

Indeed.

Because like him many mis judge me. They see what they believe to the sum total of my parts and underestimate my abilities, just like the scare crow. Even when they destroyed me, I simply pick up the pieces and put myself back together again as if nothing happened.

Plus he was the best dancer out of the three.

In my experience, druggies don't make for very good psychopaths. Many psychopaths to be found... but very few are dangerous serial massmurdering/rapist fuckheads with a terrorist agenda and a damn good strategy.

The latter takes some serious effort, effort that people 'on drugs' have an awfully hard time replicating. Smile

If no prison could hold them, how did they put them on trial?

They asked very nicely. Which is probably why not a single witch was ever actually hung.
